Probably an unknown to most who look in here but, one of the most
familiar to me... he led the house band at the Chicago Theater for
most of the 40 years I lived in that great city.

My best friend in the music business for the 60 years I knew him.

I found it kind of neat that he was able to replace his son after the
latter died in '36... the father sang with the group for over 20 years
