FS: RARE JAZZ PHOTO ARCHIVE

I have available a select group of original publicity photographs for
jazz artists from the '40s, '50s and '60s.
All these items come from the discarded archives of newspapers and
magazines in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are authentic and
original, and NOT copies.
As a result of their newspaper origins, many of them have old style
markings of some kind on the backs--pencillings, black wax marks--and
some have a few (usually removable) marks on the front, BUT RARELY ON
THE IMAGE AREA ITSELF. Sometimes the edges of the prints are not
exactly sharp from years of sitting in files and being handled. I will
note any other kind of marks which might detract from the appearance of
the item.
These are one-of-a-kind to me, and once any item is sold, it's gone.
You may be able to rent copies of these and other original photographs
from the Michael Ochs Archives in Los Angeles, with a charge of $75 to
$150. I am selling ORIGINALS at prices generally cheaper than his
RENTAL of COPIES.
Besides this lot, I have a large selection of contemporary jazz press
photographs from the mid '70s to the present day. Please query your
interests. Prices for these generally range from $8-$12.
Postage/insurance is $3 regardless of order.
For $1, I will xerox any item and send you a copy before purchase. I
guarantee my products and will refund any money cheerfully if not
satisfied.
