Crawford Road Crawl
On the dark side of the morning,
on the side of dawn.
Moonlight cuts in the dark
Pull up to the side
put my ear to the clapboard...
heard her crying on...
She cried more more more
There she goes
and there she blows
all over the carpet.
In the Saturday swank
misty, dark and dank.
Fall down to my knees
put my ear to the rail.
Hear the clackity-clackity-clackity
clackity-clack...
There she goes
and there she blows
all over the carpet.
Seen the science lady
to find my cure.
She says no son,
your heart is black and impure.
What you've done
won't be no peace,
until the Lord come down
and give you release.
See see Jesus
rise up someday.
But you ain't got no home
so you'd better stay away.
There she goes
and there she blows
all over the carpet.
Over the bridge,
she went over the bridge.
Tiny little bubbles
she sank like a stone.
Pull the car to the side
in a putrid black high.
Pull up the side
and creep my head to the side.
Put my ear to the clapboard
and I heard her cry...
She cry no no no
no no no
that little whore
she cry more more more.
There she goes,
there she blows,
all over the carpet.

If that was "good" then I sure as fuck would hate to see "better" or "best."
Yeesh that thing stunk.
So, you're not into the blues, Orson, that's no crime... you and your
pal PJR can go sit together and smooge by the pool table.

Twilight Girl
Six or six thousand,
we will meet again.
At blazing dusk,
or quiet dawn.
On that shore... again.
This is the wait,
the weight of the world.
Comes down sweet and heavy...
Twilight Girl.
On that quiet morning,
clear, crispy light.
Seeing a movie from a distance,
mourning in front of her flight.
This is the wait,
the weight of the world.
Comes down sweet and heavy,
Twilight Girl.
She offered me her cup,
asked me to fill it up,
I said "Later, babe.
Right now we have to talk
untangle the chakra
that crosses over."
Ghost horses,
from the car ahead,
looks like engine exhaust.
Blink my eyes through bitter tears,
a smile for what we've lost.
This is the wait,
the weight of the world.
Comes down sweet and heavy...
Twilight Girl.

*the song is simple and direct. the music sounds great.
allan waits meets canned heat. very "sixties" mood to it.
the video was ok. i liked the stage photos. my mind couldn't
"connect" to the paintings vs. the song, though. it's an interesting
idea. i think you're just sharing your art.
personally, as far as video goes, i think some "road travel"
footage would do the trick. then, creating a theme upon
some vagabond young woman, or something to that effect.
just a thought.
and, thanks for sharing, Will.
Thanks for checking it out, Matt, and yes, the "video" is pretty much
for the use of the YouTube venue... I've considered using just a blank
screen in a case like this, and the ideas you put out are also good
ones.

You could put a can of beans on camera for ten minutes and it would still be
more entertaining than the vomit you dribble from your chin, Duckery. Good
goddamn grief.
You've written a poem after all these years, Dink!?!

You've written a poem after all these years,
No, but even if I *had,* it would still be better than any of the horse
feces you sling at the audience.
No surprise there, my little no-talent friend.
Since you are unable, the question is moot.
I am perfectly able of creating a poem. I shall not do, however, on the sad,
pathetic tauntings of a drunk like you.

I look forward to seeing your efforts, then!
I look forward to
...snorting some coke and falling face down in a pile of beer cans and
potato chip bags?
"we know"
The falling down part I could live without... heh.
