About 10-15 years ago I remember hearing a country song that sounded
almost identical to "Octopus's Garden", even down to the steel guitar
riff. Does anyone remember this song, and why the artist or writer
wouldn't be sued for plagiarism?

I remember the song very well, and wonder why it has never been
discussed in this group?
I would like to have the same answers as you, who recorded the song, and
who the writer (s)
were?

So far as I know, I never heard this song, but the details sound
fascinating... hope someone surfaces with some detail.

A Google search turns up one comment (another one is no longer online)
which compares OG to Ronnie Milsap's "Back On My Mind Again" ...

"At first, when I started listening to Back On My Mind Again, the main
verses almost sounds like The Beatles' Octopus' Garden, yet this song
also has a resemblance to Randy Travis' Forever and Amen."

Yeah, this one's difficult--- I came across this, but so far, nothing
else:

There was a popular country song to the melody of "Octopus's Garden"
in the early nineties, but I can remember nothing of the song except
feeling offended at the ripoff each time I heard it..."

I wasn't into current country at all in the early 1990s, so I missed
out on this... really would like to hear it, though!
