OT - Baby I can't drive my car
The Walrus was Danny
that the blockage in the cooling system didn't alert me to the
overheating of the engine in the car...and so strange noises came from
all over the vehicle and I lost power as the engine seized up....but I
continued on the A27..and then was forced to stop outside Charleston
House (where all the artists hung out)...bizarre smoke was
occurring...oh dear. an opening of the bonnet revealed plumes of
burning smoke from the engine...and so I removed all the things (like
my bags and my guitar) from the boot awaiting the big fire...it was
touch and go. Phoned up Autonational Rescue and got towed back. Seems
I have to buy a new car tomorrow....
I quite fancied a Smart Car..but they're like..*thousands of
pounds*...so it looks like I'm gonna have take what I can for fifteen
hundred quid or something...no busking tomorrow then.
Did the Beatles every experience such problems? Wonder if the Comma
Van every broke down on the way to Cleethorpes...anyway my car hasn't
broken down...it's actually technically *fucked*..I spose it's all a
big adventure and adds to the colour of life. I've got the
driver..that's a start.

I've seen Smart Cars in the US. If that is the same thing as what you
are thinking of, they strike me as way too small. They look like golf
carts. I don't think anyone inside would survive an accident.

They're really safe apparently, they have a solid frame around them
and it's really difficult to crush them....Also...they only cost 35
quid a year to tax and they do 65 MPG..also you can park them
lengthways!!..I'd really quite like one...but they're a bit expensive
to actually buy....I *want* one.

If the heater fucks up it could indicate a bigger problem.
1) Thermostat problems - which won't tell you that the car is
overheating
2) It's losing water..hence overheating
3) Head gasket is fucked...you're looking at 300 quid plus.
Start looking!!

As you probably know, large sedans are disappearing in the US. I"ve
been looking around. I can't find any new large sedans. What
manufacturers and advertisers call new large sedans I would call a
compact.

Seems like it..was apparently left to somebody in a will. The window's
winding system has to be fixed so the garage I've bought it off is
lending me a Honda Civic for the next day or so...it also needs to be
MOTed..and taxed which the garage has said they will do.

Well the one that dies was a ford..a fiesta...and that is currently
very dead indeed. Lasted me three years and did 60,000 miles in it..so
that's OK i suppose. I hadn't serviced it for two years so I was
expecting a death to occur..I never really loved my Fiesta..not like
the Minis I used to have.

There was an episode of Top Gear in which Jeremy Clarkson drove a
Bently (I think) from Glasgow to London on one tank of petrol...it was
part of the TV prog. Can't remember what car it was...might have been
a BMW or a Merc come to think of it.

You didn't read that a couple of weeks ago? Obama actually signed an
executive order telling U.S. attorneys to stop busting legitimate
medical marijuana suppliers. They've stopped or they'll be replaced.
*Pharmacies" have popped up on every corner in San Diego, and there is
a lot of concern about kids getting it.

Orange County was okay, too, but San Diego county was the pits.
Nothing was open. The U.S. attorney and local LE raided and closed
them all.
As I said, since Obama's order, pharmacies on every street corner, and
I watch the medical marijauna concern shoot themselves in the foot.
There are always young kids (teenagers) in charge of the stores; as a
matter of fact, even in the "clinics" (except for maybe the MD).
Glassy-eyed, too.
The clinics were giving letters to teenagers who claimed they had
severe pain or other malady. That's why San Diego clamped down, I
think.

Letter from a MD - cost: $99.00 a year, and then you have to be

I only belong to one. I ought to shop around, but it's time consuming
and stressful driving around in SOCAL.
Mexico decriminalized possession of less than 5 grams, but they'll
still confiscate it and give you a lecture on seeking treatment.
It smells very strongly (as you know) so I hide the bag down my pants
in my crotch - practically the last place the Mexican cops will
look.
I still get wiffs of the odor. I've taken to wrapping it several times
and wiping the bags with alcohol, which seems to work.

I don't hang about. The KA isn't ready yet so am driving around in a
Honda Civic the garage has lent me whilst the KA gets MOTed and Taxed
(and has the windy window fixed!). Honda Civic Estate..bloody massive
compared to what I'm used to. 1.6 litre as well..thirsty.

To expensive to get it fixed. Would need a new engine. I kind of
didn't love the Fiesta anyway. I didn't give it a name. Did me 70,000
miles in 3 years so it had had it's day. Bless it.

Wanted something small and economical. KA's are a bit cool..though
they're a bit prostitutey. Like I need to have one of those tattos
