It was 68 degrees and sunny today, 'sposed to be nicer tomorrow.
Gonna have the grill going tomorrow afternoon. There will be smoke in
the air. Blackpool, and others in NY area, this weather is heading
your way.

Not sure if it will be ribs, or a roast, that is up to Honey-Bunz, but
we will be butt rubbing tomorrow.

Goes together well.

My wife has a spice mix that she has put together over the years that
I named "Paula's Butt-Rub." If you like Bar BQ, I will gladly post-it.

I get off work at 3:00pm, the grill will be started 'round 4:00pm
Deeeetroit time. Deeeetroit time is read on a clock with bullet holes.

To Jim Beam....take the Butt-Rub recipe. Trust me.

Jim and to all;

Paula’s Butt Rub - BBQ - Southern Rub recipe

1 Cup Paprika
½ Cup Kosher salt
“ Sugar
“ Brown Sugar
“ Ground Cumin
“ Chile Powder
“ Cracked Pepper
“ Ground Onion
“ Ground Garlic
¼ Cup Cayenne Pepper

Adjust heat by the amount of Cayenne Pepper, use hot paprika, or kick
butt by using small amounts of ground Habanera Peppers.

Use the freshest spices you can find. Rub your butt, roast, ribs, etc
several hours, no more than overnight, due to the salt drying out the
meat. Then grill until you like. We have been married 25 years last
Sweetest Day, and "Honey-Bunz" has this recipe perfected.

My wife will rub ribs and place them on a rack, inside a cooking pan.
She will pour apple juice, orange juice, or bottle of beer, and cook
the ribs for about 2 hours at 250 degrees until tender. She will
throw them on the grill, then serve with our favorite bar BQ sauce.
The bones pull out of the meat. Our local favorite sauce is Billy
Bones Bar BQ Sauce, not sure if this is available out side the
Deeeetroit area.

Beatles connection? Eat good while listening to the remasters.

Good luck.

Thanks,
I'll try it tomorrow, while I watch the Dolphins beat the Patsies.

Good luck with that. Pats favored by 11.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking forward to the nice weather.

I saw on the internet that in the mean time Tropical Storm Ida may
turn into a hurricane and hit Cancun, Mexico. Too bad. I hope it does
not head up the east coast.

The Dolphins just may be scrappy enough to beat any reasonable spread.
On the other hand, Brady seems to finally be back on his game. I'll
take the Pats to win but not beat the spread. It should be a good game,
unlike my pathetic Redskins who are facing yet another miserable loss.

They are the Raiders of the NFC.

I was there once, long ago. I did not see much of Cancun. I stayed
mostly at the hotel, enjoyed the beach, relaxing, etc. When I wanted
to do something fun, I took different tours of the surrounding Yucatan
peninsula which was fascinating.

I understand that there is an relaxing tourist area nearby called
Cozumel. Perhaps if I return to that area, I'll check out Cozumel.

Cozumel is about 25 miles south of Cancun. You will have to take the
jetboat ferry there, very nice island to visit.
