My brother has zero interest in music. So, no.

That's awful. He never even listens to the radio?

Probably only for background noise. He "likes" the Eagles and similar
soft rock, but played low and unobtrusively. I've never known him to
play music for pleasure.

Last time I asked him what kind of music he likes, and he said
"Christian rock." Like, it doesn't matter what the music actually
sounds like as long as it's "Christian". That was also the first time I
ever had an inkling that he had got religion.

I have to hear Christian rock around here and it drives me
crazy. I hope you'll give it a listen, to explain it better than
I can: It's so predictable. It starts off with almost like a
1050's chord progression, but there's a minor chord
in there somewhere? I don't know. I haven't tried to
play to it, but after you've heard one song, you've
pretty much heard them all. Songs are basically
simple but with a lot of production. An hour of
this kind of music is enough for me.

I've heard "Christian rock" that sounds like Peter Paul and Mary. I've
heard CR that sounds like Bon Jovi. I've heard CR that sounds like
death metal, grunge, alt rock. I've heard CR that sounds like the
Beatles. As far as I can tell the label "Christian rock" means
absolutely nothing in musical terms, only that it contains some bible-
thumping lyric content.

Interesting, with all these variations you speak of. I've
only heard one type. It's like pop/rock. The lyrics
aren't the problem. It's the beginning of the songs
that get old quickly, & the predictability from then
on. Same old thing.
