I like Revolution 1 better than the single Revolution. What do you think?

I like them both, but I prefer the punch and urgency of the single
Revolution. Revolution 1 fits the White Album better though, I think,
than the single version would have.

People who prefer the "white album" version of this song tend to be
fastidious,
prefer to vacation close to home rather than splurge on an
extravagant overseas
holiday, and usually are employed in the accountancy trade. Their
favorite color is
burgundy, they would rather own a cat than a dog, and 22% of them
are dyslexic.
Males in this group generally tend to "dress to the left".

I have to say I agree 100% with rwalker on this one. Also: Wasn't it
John instead of George who played the heavy fuzzy feedback guitar on the
single? Was it feedback or just fuzz? Or both? K9

i think the whole distortion or part of it was done by connecting the
guitars directly through the soundboard and than overloading the
channels levels.. or am i wrong?

It was John doing the lead.

I like the single version better. I used to like the white album
version too. I can't stand to listen to it any more.

Here's
one for you: My brother has this friend who is 50 years old,
who heard Tomorrow Never Knows for the first time, today.
He had no idea it was the Beatles. :-)

A younger friend of mine was riding in my van [ this was around '76 ] I
had a Beatles 8-track in & Lucy in the Sky... came on, He thought that
Elton's was the original. I always liked his arrangement. I think the
Goodbye Yellowbrick Road album is super fantastic. I like every song on
it. I consider it his Sgt. Pepper. Any big Elton fans here? K9

Yes, I'm a fan of Elton. GYBR is a fine album but his eponymous album
(with Your Song on it) is also a beauty, and Captain Fantastic's not
bad either. The rest of his albums are more hit and miss but there are
examples of great composition and performance throughout. His live
shows are always worth a look too. Elton redefined the word
"flamboyant" :-) There's plenty of Beatles connection with Elton too.
I'd have thought he'd be discussed more than he has been.

As for your story, I heard something similar back round about when
Mull of Kintyre was out. A teenager said to her dad "Did you know Paul
McCartney was in a band before Wings?"
