Of the different albums released by the Beatles, either as a group or
as individuals, which album cover was your favorite?
Mine . . . . I think one of my faves was Two Virgins! Yay.
I also like Beatles For Sale very much. They look sooooooooo handsome.
My least favorite is the infamous baby butcher cover. Yuck.
So, which cover or covers are your favorite and why?
I think (especially since you didn't provide much information) we should
continue with pr's track: why precisely is "Two Virgins" your favorite
Beatles-related album cover ("Yay")? It strikes me as an eccentric
choice, and your reasons might be fascinating, even if most of your
other posts are flat out dim.

I like Red Rose Speedway
There's lots of reasons to like the cover of Two Virgins. It's
daring, provocative, original. And the human body is often very
beautiful.
John's songwriting and his personal style was very autobiographical,
and I think the cover is consistant with his philisophy of making
himself the subject of his "art."
Not in this case however.
BEATLES FOR SALE is one of my favorite photos of The Beatles.
Often but not in this case.
I thought you had those cataracts taken care of.

No, he was stripping himself of Beatle clothes and declaring himself
and Yoko Ono free.

Great for rolling a joint.
I actually (no kidding) like the "White Album" cover the best: it seemed
so modern and "clean" at the time, and - in its own way - a relief from
psychedelic overkill, appearing to promise everything and nothing, a
mystery, as if they couldn't agree what precisely the music constituted,
or what approach they were taking. A tabula rasa upon which the audience
could sketch its own desires, without the imposition of the Beatles'
identities, stripped of public image and waiting - quietly - for either
approval or rejection. "Here I am - a record (or two)..."
dmh
For me it's "Abbey Road",
Everytime that I cross a street with the "tiger stripes"
it reminds me of the cover and it feels like I'm there.
Revolver for me also.
Are you sure? I would have thought...*Men have penii*.
I found it...*ominous* when I first saw it. And when I listened to it,
that experience only added to my initial reaction to the cover.
Yeah, I've gotten that feeling. Don't find those tiger stripes too
often, though.
Abbey Road is my favorite cover - though it's neck and neck with Sgt.
Pepper.

I agree.
You made me literally LOL.
ROTFLMAO.

Yes, that's one interpretation. But I recall reading a John interview
where he said he deliberately did not have him or Yoko pose in a sexy
way. So IMO it was more than just merely stripping himself of the
Beatles. He wanted the public to see that they were two ordinary
people.
The fact that I enjoy tittering over nudity (and yes, I sometimes
enjoy nudity. Don't you???) does not mean that I can't see it as art.
The two are not mutually exclusive. One can appreciate an example of
art and titter at the same time.
As a matter of fact some people would argue that the best art is the
art that strikes an emotional chord, that makes you laugh, or angry or
puzzled, etc. In other words, art that PROVOKES an emotion or a
reaction in the viewer.
Cute. Yes, I think that cover should have been sub titled "Polar Bear
in a Snow Storm."
Mature and handsome.
Abbey Road is certainly iconic in the sense that the cover photo has
inspired many many spin-offs.
There are two that stick out for me,
Jerry Seinfeld and The Simpsons.
I was forced (being born in 1966) to be in the position to buy The
White Album "post Manson" (1978),
so, it too, was very ominous for me, looking at just a white cover.
Of course, at 13, "Revolution 9" actually gave me nightmares, but
that'll tend to happen when you fall asleep with
Side 4 waiting to drop onto the platter. The comforting feeling was
"Good Night".
I need to get ahold of those four photos again and put them up in the
basement.
The vinyl I have of the white album isn't white at all. It has
pictures of them (I'm assuming the ones you mention). Unless it had
the white conver and it got lost?, the album is really my mom's.
I have a copy of the vinyl (No 006535). The front cover is white
except for the embossed number and title ("The Beatles"). There are
photos on the inside. Are you sure you don't have the album folded
inside out?
My favourite album cover has to be Abbey Road because it was the first
album I ever bought and it is still - and always has been - in my all-
time top 3. It's a much mimicked cover too - and often re-created by
tourists. There are plenty of album covers where you can identify the
location of the artwork, but not so many sought out by fans with
cameras.
I sometimes have found myself in the *fifth* position when making
purchases...and then I *grande jette* the heck outta the store before
I spend all my money.
:o)
Wow...most excellent...!!!
I would say "most people": I see the occasional tittering over sex at my
job, but it is almost always done by people who appear to have suffered
some sort of trauma which has stunted their mental and emotional growth.

Fatts not only sticks her foot in her mouth, she lubricates it so it
will go in further.

Stop it! You're raising the phallicles on, in, or near my head.
Perhaps other uninformed locations.

That album also had a collage poster that came with it.
You get your sexual release picking on Fatts. I believe the longer
the post is that you type with the most critical language the bigger
your orgasm.
I like the surrealism of Mind Games, and I like the simplicity of the
White Album with all those photos inside.
You are having an orgasm just typing this at your computer. End of
story
You assume he can achieve one.
Even if I was "tittering" over the nudity. WTF?
I never thot the say would come...but Ole MC agrees with Fatty on this
one...
Two Virgins...Most...Wankalicious...Album....Ever...
Nuff said.
If Yoke's big hairy snatch dont do it, her durian titties will!!

I was focusing on the picture of John. Yoko figure does not do it for
me.
"MC Hammered" was talking about how Yoko got him hot. I was trying to
explain to him that Yoko does not get me hot. Yoko's figure does not
turn me on. John's figure is interesting to me. Naked females do
not get me hot--
Sometimes a photo or work of art is interesting for several reasons.
One does not exclude the other.
No, I don't think it's possible for it to be inside out. It just has
pictures of them. Similar to the Let it Be cover, only that better
pictures.
I think the cover might just have been different here. That was often
the case then it seems. I also have the cover (only the cover) of A
Hard Day's Night, and it's just a picture of them (and not even a very
good one). But then the covers of Beatles for Sale, Sgt. Pepper,
Abbey Road, Let it Be, Hey Jude, Yellow Submarine, are all right. The
Help one is slighly different...

Abbey Road might be my favourite album cover as well. Probably
influenced by it being probably my favourite album. Though I think
Sgt. Pepper, Rubber Soul, Revolver are great as well. They're all
pretty good. Now that I like a pair of other bands/musicians (almost)
as much as The Beatles, as to know the album covers, I find that The
Beatles ones are noticeably better. Even as solo artists.
Well, in this case they made it the cover. Will look at it tomorrow,
too late now :).
> Kidding. Revolver.
I'm with you on this one. In a world that was beginning to explode in
garish primitive color TV hues, they went with a black and white line
drawing/photo montage. And there's something about the sinewy,
intertwining lines of the hair that echoes the guitar lines in songs
like "She Said, She Said". The overall graphic effect is that there's
a central vortex, a cascade down and around from the sides and top
that leads directly to that central photograph of John with his
knowing Mona Lisa half-smile, most likely taken around the time that
Klaus knew him best. The artist's hand here has an emotional
connection to the subject and it shows.
Expecialy when its the Yokes firkin nude body!!! Like, shes not
beautiful in a "conventational" sorta way...if thats yer cuppa tea, a
convential beauty,. with a nice neat lil ole patch o pubic hair and
same size boobs, nippes more or less symmettrical and cleanli ness ta
boot, then the Yokes not feryou. Then you prolly go for more of a
Bobbra Bock type.
But if like Ole MC, you like an unusal women, Chinese, thick legs,
huge pointy durian titties and a thick unwahsed bush that houses
goodness knows what, then Yokes yer women. She prolly eats Moo shi,
too, (raw fish) bein Chi nese and all. Now ole MC here perfers a nice
Mickey D's burga..Hell mebbe the Yoke could eat there too, get her a
frikkin flay o fish....see if theyre serve it unfried an all sionce
she IS the Yojke (chinese) an all....didya know, Mickey Ds got some
new burgas, they calls it tje bigt angu or sumfin,...and is IS real
big...like even the box is big an its a real tasty burga, just ermemba
ta open the top bun an take the vegetables out and throw em as far as
they can freakin fly!!! Mista Charlie dont like veggies fer
Godsakes@!!!!
