I see that he also quashes rumors that he's retiring.

Good news.

So all the talk, repeated in many news sources, about this being his
final tour, were just made up... though I think I had read an alleged
quote by him saying taht he wanted to spend more time at home or
something.

I saw him in Boston this summer with my family...a large expense for
us, but I thought it would be worth it, if only for a historical
nature. My son had a sever ear infection, and we were going on my
extended family camping trip the next night, but he was game.
Honestly, I originally thought of this as a "for historical purposes"
trip...I've bypassed seeing some legends because the money was shoprt
at the time, and never got another chance.

I was absolutely floored by the man's energy and voice. He was
inredible. If you've heard the New York concert, be aware he was in
MUCH better voice while in Boston, and I'm discounting the adrenaline
of being there. My wife and daughter were dancing and singing and my
son was enthralled...as soon as he recognized a song, he'd pull at my
sleeve and smile broadly (it's as animated as he gets). He was
especially thrilled by "Blackbird," as he had just mastered the quasi-
fingerpicking guitar part.

Paul doesn't need to work anymore, but I think he's one of those
people who is energized by other people (I'm quite the opposite). If
he is still getting a boot out of it, there's no reason he should
retire.

Earlier this year on the Howard Stern Show (quoted as best I
remember):

Howard: "Paul, last time you were here on the show who warned you
about getting a pre-nup?"

Paul: "Er....No comment."

Howard: "I did, didn't I?"

Paul: "No comment."

Howard: "You said you were asking Linda in your mind if it was ok to
start a relationship with Heather and right at that moment you heard
an owl hoot and you took that as a sign that Linda gave her consent."

Paul: "Right..."

Howard: "Well I know you're a vegetarian, Paul, but if I were you I'd
track down that owl and eat it."

Paul: {Laughs}

I give Paul credit for getting out of that wretched marriage.

And I never believed the retirement rumors.

How old's your son? Sounded young in the part about pulling at your
sleeve but then he has mastered "Blackbird" on the guitar?, he's
either a little older than I thought or quite the prodigy! Very
nice. Paul's vocals were in fine form in NYC IMO! Anyway he
shouldn't quit but he really should try something a little different
gig-wise, surely he's about at the end of the road with these greatest-
hits mega-blockbuster "history-making" same-set-list-shuffled-around
giant-venue concerts of the last near-decade, how much bigger can
these get? He should go smaller! - come on Paul, just about everybody
around the world who wants to surely has had at least a chance to see
this show that you've been touring and fine-tuning since at least
'02. It's been said a million times before but play some smaller
venues, much-lesser-or-never-played material (lots of which could
still be Hits!, don't worry!), way more post-Beatles songs, appeal
specifically to your album-buying-and-listening *fans* rather than to
the general Beatles-knowing public. Advertise ahead of time that
you're skipping Let It Be, Hey Jude, Jet and Live and Let Die this
time around so that no one will be disappointed, (your people can come
up with a great way of doing that making it appealing and edgy!),
it'll give you a much better excuse to put out yet another live album
if it excludes the songs that have been released on so many of yours
already.
Surprise everybody and keep 'em guessing! I'm addressing the man as
if he reads this, lol.

Not everyone has seen this show!. He hasn't toured with it in South
America. He has just kept playing in Europe, the US and, I don't
know, Australia maybe...

It's a long time since he's come to Australia.

He had one or two shows scheduled in for 2002 and cancelled in the
aftermath of 11/9.

He's 11, but the sleeve-tugging bit is a family habit that's skipped a
generation. My father still does it when he wants your attention, and
he's 72!

My son started putting up Youtube videos of him playing guitar. Here's
his take on "Stairway to Heaven."
