I know that the LP had that version but wasn't sure how the Red album
was mixed onto CD.
Thanks in advance.

Definitely not.
It was only for the US release 'soundtrack' album.
What??? It's on the Red Album LP. It's not JUST on the soundtrack
Never heard the US version, just the official EMI UK one, not silly
James Bond theme at all.
It was always on the US vinyl.
Interesting. For a Beatles newsgroup no one seems to know if the James
Bond version of Help! is on the 1962-1966 CD version. It's
obvious it was on the LP. But, the CD had different mixes to some
songs. I guess there aren't any experts on here. Thanks anyway.

As I've never needed to own either the Red album or any of the US
bastardisations of the albums, I'm only vaguely aware of the Bond intro
(from watching the flim) and I see little point in commenting on things
which, to be honest, are of little interest to me. I *DO* though, have
extensive knowledge of the original releases, should you have any
questions regarding them

If one person has delusions, we call them psychotic. If, however, 1.5 billion
people have delusions we must apparently call them a religious group, and
respect their delusionary state.
http://www.columbia.edu/~brennan/beatles/var-1965.html says:
"On the Capitol albums MAS 2386 and SMAS 2386, and on (US) Apple
SKBO-3403, the song is preceded by a short instrumental version of the
James Bond Theme, or something similar to it, which is banded as if part
of the song but separated by a pause. This is not part of the song and
not the Beatles."
This would imply it's NOT on the 1962-1966 CD.

OK, I just popped the CD into my player and heard it with my own ears.
No James Bond intro.

Hey Adam, thanks for pointing me in the direction of Brennan's
variations site. Just the thing I was looking for. What I had thought
were my eyes playing tricks on me, was actually a different John
vocal, and was trying to pin down that extra track from the Red LP
and also the CD mix (both different in UK and US copies). I appreciate
your help. All Quinn had to say was that he didn't know, and
not act like an elitist snob. Much obliged.

Thanks dude. I appreciate it. I never bought that version. Thanks for
checking that out for me.

Idea for anyone who has the "white album" on vinyl: dye the jacket
another color. Then you can be the only one who has the Beatles' "green
album" or "chartreuse album" or ...
