"A documentary that first aired on BBC TV during Beatles week in September.

The Beatles on Record," narrated by the Beatles and Sir George Martin,
and directed by Bob Smeaton, who also directed "The Beatles Anthology"
and created the mini-documentaries used on the Beatles remastered CDs,
charts the Beatles’ story from "Please Please Me" to the "Abbey Road"
album. It reveals how they developed as musicians, matured as
songwriters and created an enduring body of work. The program features
over 60 songs, rarely seen footage and images from the Beatles’ archives
and never-before-heard outtakes of conversation from the original
recording sessions.

Beyond its initial airing, the program will be repeated at later dates
to be determined on various A&E television networks, including the
Biography Channel."

I saw the original BBC airing, and it's HIGHLY recommended.

Nothing startling, nothing new, but a nice overall look at things....

Wasn't that the show aired on September 9 on FTA TV?
It looks a lot like the mini-docs. I recorded it but missed a lot.

This is just the "mini-documentaries" tacked together and presented as a
single program, isn't it?

I'd have to upgrade my Direct TV package and pay twice what I'm paying
now in order to view the program. I'm sick of TV - it's mostly
garbage.

I might upgrade for a month over the holidays, though.

But is this program any better than the eight hour Beatles Anthology?

Read this too late. I'll be sure and try to remember the next airing.
Sounds interesting, thanks for posting.
