Subject: Robbie Williams v Bruce DVD
Having recently watched the new Bruce DVD and Robbie Williams DVD just a few
notes.(For those in the USA who have not heard of Robbie Williams he played
3 nights at Knebworth in August 2003 in front of a total of 375,000 people
and is a big 'star' in the UK)
1.Why does it take Bruce's team a year to bring out a DVD when it takes
Williams 3 months.
2.Williams brings out a live album of the shows within 2 months.
3.The Bruce DVD is just a basic recording of the whole show with dodgy sound
on some tracks-the Williams show has great sound through out and is great
visually.
4.The Direction of of Bruces show is like something out of the
1980's,Williams show is Directed by Hamish Hamilton (who did U2 Boston DVD
amongst others)  and as a ''film'' of the show stands head and shoulders
against Bruces DVD.
All I ask is Bruces team get their act together and produce a GREAT DVD
which his shows deserve-I have seen Springsteen Live since 1981 and am still
waiting for a film to be made which shows this, maybe the Shea Stadium/Boston
shows will come out and prove me wrong but will probably have to wait a year
or so to see!!!
I know  we have to wait years for a new album, that I can understand-but live
recordings are another thing-personally I think the record company are
taking the piss when they release stuff a year after the concert and is very
sub standard....but of course we all still buy it.

Bob.

It's hard for me to imagine anyone being a Bruce fan AND a Robbie Williams
fan.  Kind of like a double bill of Hamlet and La Cage aux Folles.

just one small point in that robbie williams seems to be playing for himself
and simply going through the motions, bruces concert he is playing for the
fans and is giving his all, and several of my friends have said that as well
who are bigger robbie fans than they are springsteen fans.

Plus robbies live album the sound mix is shit! the crowd are droning over
every track. I want tio hear the crowd at the beginning and dend of  atrack
but not all the way through it. Puts me off just like that canned laughter
every 5 seconds on friends.
