Hi, everyone! I was in this newsgroup from around December 7 through
December 28, posting from Brookings, South Dakota. I moved to Lexington,
Kentucky, in early January, and I just discovered net-based e-mail this week.

There have been some problems with hotmail, and two messages I tried to
send previously apparently never got here. I'm hoping to have better fortunes
today.

I'm posting to comment on Rebecca's concert at the Knoxville Christian
Center on Thursday night, which I attended. I thought about actually taking
notes at the concert so I could write a really cash review, but it looks like
you're gonna get scattered thoughts instead. :)

I guess this was the last concert of Rebecca's pre-band era, and I was
really impressed. As if there's not enough pressure in standing on stage alone,
she did a *lot* without accompaniment tracks. I'd never seen her live, and I
was wondering how the vocals would compare with her recorded stuff. In my
occasionally humble opinion, they're for real.

I honestly think the night was a struggle for her on the whole. Though I
don't really have anything to compare it to, I thought the crowd was a little
unresponsive. At intermission time, the pastor of the church announced that the
bathrooms were all out of order. Then right after intermission, the
accompaniment to "Go And Sin No More" started cutting out, and she sorta had to
invent an acapella ending.

At this point, I couldn't help but feel for her. She just kept fighting
forward, though, and I thought the next part of the concert was one of the
highlights.

Just before I unsubscribed in December, Jill posted about a concert she'd
been to. She said Rebecca didn't "talk much on her own" except about her vision
regarding Daniel 3. Well, that sure wasn't the case Thursday. She spent quite a
bit of time in monologue, and I think it was effective.

The highlight after "Go And Sin No More" was about her great-(I think)
grandmother. It was light and fluffy and fun. The four 12-year-old girls
sitting beside me were giggling quite a bit, and I'd say they were really
drinking it in.

After the show, I pretended to help tear down. (Really I was just getting
in the way.) I wasn't paying attention to the autograph session, and when I got
ready to go, Rebecca had already left the building. :( I actually got about
halfway back to the motel before I came to my senses.

I went back and asked her dad if it was too late to get an autograph, and
he graciously went to get her out of the motor home ("bus"?). I gave her a
Valentine's Day card and had her autograph it back to me. When I first got this
idea, I thought it was really funny; I'm not sure she was equally amused. I
suppose infatuated guys get old after a while. :)

Then I said something really profound, like, "You did a great job tonight.
It's tough when the equipment is acting up and stuff, but you held it
together." She said thanks. :)

In closing, I was impressed by her (1) burden for the lost, (2) obvious
P-31 work ethic, (3) pitch, (4) seriousness, (5) intelligent oratory, and (6)
siblings. :)
Entering adrenaline crash,
Kurt

Ha ha!! I think that's great, really funny. I bet a lot of other guys will
do it now too.

Grace and peace,
Jill
