correctly 'trace an IP address'?" i'd guess not very high considering it's
AJ, and he's just not bright.
i don't claim to be an expert, but AFAIK individual users' IP addresses do
not generally show up in usenet message headers. i know AJ posts through
google groups, and a quick browse there shows exactly that--IP addresses
aren't in the headers. the only IP address in my headers is in the NNTP
Posting Host, which shows the address of the news server itself.
but who knows, i suppose anything is possible...either way, in this instance
I agree with El Jefe--the fact you're so obsessed you're actually trying to
look up our IP addresses is pretty creepy, AJ.
i'd ask for some sort of proof, but frankly i just don't care enough. if it
makes you feel better to think we're the same person, feel free. i'll laugh

Just as general info (and i'm far from any kinda expert on ips) your
broadband account should rarely change. IP addies are leased on
usually a week or two basis. The only IP that changes every time you
log on is 56k dialup. For an extra 5 bucks a month, I can get a static
IP number on my broadband account (never changes). A router being
connected has no bearing on how long your service provider (Cox
Communications) assigns your IP number.

interesting, thanks! i was under the impression that the router "grabbed"
an unused IP address from a "pool" of designated addresses...but, i've never
studied such things so this is based in maybe 5 minutes of reading, lol.

If I release my IP address, and immediately reboot, mine is usually the same
for about a few weeks, or if not the same, a slight variation of (such as
going from
123.45.67.8 to 123.46.67.8 ). I believe that is pretty standard amongst the
service providers.
I was recently forced to switch my router settings from PPoE to DHCP,
and it's giving me grief with my p2p programs. Some people I can no
longer connect to, using proggies like winmx or torrents. If I spend the
extra
5 bucks a month, they'll give me a static address, thus fixing my problem.

*Everything was fine until Democrats became the majority in 2006. Look
it up. BTW, last week was the highest the stock market has been since
2003. Gas prices this week are below $3.00 a gallon. Bush just did the
700 billion bail out, which is a good thing because Democrats would
have never said anything or admitted their mistakes and got us deeper
in debt. Obama wasn't even going to do a damn thing about it or even
speak about it till Bush ordered him to the White House (look it up)
Besides, you can't talk sense into people who are willing to vote for
the most inexperienced candidate in the history of our nation and who
will cost us more money and will weaken our national security. How
can anyone relate to someone who's voting for less money and less
security? Obama's a good debater, McCain is a good leader. I'd rather
have someone who walks the walk and not a lawyer that would sell his
soul and just talk the talk.

to delay this weekend's first presidential debate.

Bush invited senators McCain and Obama, as well as top lawmakers, for
talks on a Wall Street rescue plan.

opposition on both sides of the aisle.
Senator McCain's bold gambit came as several new opinion polls showed

“Tomorrow morning I'll suspend my campaign and return to Washington,”
the Republican told reporters, adding he had spoken with Senator Obama

system”.
“We must meet as Americans, not as Democrats or Republicans, and we

a president should be able to “deal with more than one thing at

“What I'm planning to do right now is to debate on Friday. My general
view is that the American people need to know what it is we intend to

Senator Obama said Senator McCain had jumped the gun by calling for
postponing the debate in Mississippi.
“My attitude is we need to be focused on solving the problem ... but I
think it is also important that we communicate to the American people

I've researched, I know the public doesn't need to be privy of all

And McCain accomplished nothing except making himself look like a fool

Going by your own post further down, it was an invitation, not an order.
It's probably a good thing for McCain that Obama hasn't debated him more.
The three they've had lifted Obama in the polls and improved the public's
impression of him, while having the opposite effect on McCain.

*McCain right now is leading in Ohio and Florida again. Palin's
appearance on SNL is the highest ratings SNL has had in 16 years. And
just like Christmas shopping most people wait till the last day to do
it, in other words many voters haven't even registered yet. And I'm
hearing that many people are just saying they are voting for Obama to
avoid harassment from the loony left.
