Brother" Crap for to long, strains, a great voice, let alone a
delicate one. What left of what once was at least a fine voice for
ballads and pop/country-folk songs, has now turned into a Voice
looking for Lung power, and projection.. She smokes way too much and
lives like its 1977, she could give Marianne Faithfull,Keith Richards,
andJoni mitchell in the sex, rock And roll and drugs department. If I
were her, I'd retire. If I were her manager, i'd tell her to hang it
up, and live off her past, cause her future career, as a performer
like her audience, is dying off. the demographic, as well as the
fiscal and creative public interest is not what it used to be. Some
performers just don't know when to Quit, like great atheletes, they
try to perform like the days when they were youthful, full of passion
and Inspiration, and striving to hit their peak. Emmylou hit her peak
a long time ago, she will never hit again, the problem is no one has
told her yet, that her Career is on the down side, and WILL NEVER hit
the heights again. Her manager, His VECTORING, is way off course. Even
he is in denial. Thats whats happens when hubris and meglomanical
characters merge, eventually they eat each other up, until one or the
other has expired. No business like show business!

complete exercise, She sounds fine. As far as her brain goes, who
knows? Considering shes been on the Road for 32 years, And a Millon
brain cells die Each Day, i guess your remark, is right on the money,
and ment in a Monty Python type of Way.:-) Even Emmy, would laugh at
that! Being Shes in the "DIRE STRAITS", at this point in her Career,
the only way she appears to be going, is down. Shes had a Great
Career, Will She know, When to hang up the Touring Part? I Doubt It.
Its a EGO Thing. She will probably, drop dead with a joint in her
mouth, a Guitar in her hands, and some Fan/junkie listening like shes
Billie Holiday, or some female version of "Dorian Grey". Such is the
Life of a decadent Poet, who has lost the sense of where the
stage-craft begins,or ends, and never seems to make the change or
recognition where her Life Has REALLY gone. Got to love her, cause
her days are dwindling. Even if she is AMORAL and IMPERFECT.
