Why do you say that?
Sam
Yeah, Rob! it does sound like you got some scoop...?
Although, let me venture a guess. By August, all
releases for the year have pretty much been announced.
I gather that recent releases-to-come announcements
have now covered the rest of the year, and no Amy discs
among them.
But i'm not surprised, after the discussion we had couple
months ago (?) over the talk of Amy releasing digital songs
individually, and placing CDs on low priority. Not happy
but not surprised.

It's the 2nd paragraph that you wrote Ruth. Anything by the end of
this year would have been announced by now. So much for our opinions
on what discs we wanted (remember when Jennifer wanted to know if we
prefered remixes or rarities, etc.).
At least I have The Definitive Madonna and Tori Amos' Christmas album
to look forward to.
Amy's manager, Jennifer said that they would be releasing several EPs
every couple of months until they combined them all with some extras
into a project they would release on iTunes and as a CD and even in
vinyl. However, we haven't heard an EP of all new material by Amy
yet!!! It would be great if they could put out something either this
month or certainly by next month. In any event, I look forward to
purchasing Whitney Houston's "comeback" CD "I Look To You" scheduled
for release on August 31st.
Yes Sharon I look forward to the Wigney album too. :)
Amy's manager Jennifer Cooke reads fans messages on her FOA message
board and since we were inquiring about how her upcoming EPs were
coming along, she posted the following response:
Thanks for the inquiry.... and yes, I do still read the message
boards.
Yes, we told you that we would be releasing several EPs of new music
and also talked about physical releases as well as vinyl releases. In
spite of how slow things are moving, all of those options are still
being discussed and investigated.
But it all starts with the songs and getting them recorded. Amy is
still writing new songs and experimenting with different producers in
the studio. It is a slow, but enjoyable, process for her.
Unfortunately, because of all of the many things she commits to, both
personally and professionally, finding 'free" days for writing and
recording is actually somewhat difficult.
There is not a release date set for anything. We continue to discuss
what is the best way to release upcoming material. Although the
digital format is easiest, fastest, and most cost-effective, we also
know that Amy's demographic is still mainly a "physical format" buyer.
Sales of the "Unafraid" ep were fairly soft in spite of giving it a
decent promotional push. Those sales certainly gave us reason to pause
in terms of digital-only releases.
Summer vacation ends this week. The Challenge America events and
Africa are behind us. Up next is getting Amy back into gear with
writing and recording. She has a handful of performances this fall but
the main work focus will be getting new material written and recorded.
My best "educated guess" is that we won't be releasing anything until
after the holidays. I know that is not the answer many of you want,
but it is realistic. If we can push something to be released sooner we
will.
EMI is talking about releasing two special projects next year... a 2-
cd compilation project and a remix record...
Jen
Thanks, Sharon, for the post and for the info.
Well, depending on what that is (2-CD project), it's more like it. But
it shouldv'e been this year.
And didn't Amy Twitter about how must days were spent songwriting?
Sometimes I just feel like we get cop-outs from them. :(
