From Ted Donat, Executive Producer of the Mid-Atlantic Sweepstakes,
comes another great DC area a cappella event sure to be a sellout
event in no time. The Birchmere will open its doors at the end of
this month for another great area a cappella event. THE HARMONY
INVITATIONAL will debut at the historic Birchmere (www.Birchmere.com)
on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.
For its debut, the Harmony Invitational will feature performances from
great vocal bands from four cities. Boston's Ball in the House
(www.BallintheHouse.com), most recently featured on NBC's The Today
Show, are a Boston Sweeps Champion and Audience Favorite. New York's
Blue Jupiter (www.BlueJupiter.com) is a two-time Harmony Sweepstakes
audience favorite and has produced and hosted many great events in the
DC area such as SingStrong and the East Coast A Cappella Summit.
Cartoon Johnny (www.CartoonJohnny.com) is Washington, DC's most award-
winning vocal band, and a two-time Sweepstakes champion, audience
favorite, and National Finalist, most recently the defending New York
Sweepstakes champion. The newest band on the card, Pittsburgh's
DoubleShot! (www.Double-Shot.net), has garnered five awards in two
appearances at the Mid-Atlantic Sweepstakes, including an appearance
in the National Finals as the '07 champion and audience favorite and
two awards for Best Arrangement.
These four groups will take the stage for one night only, bringing a
second great annual night of a cappella to the Birchmere and a fall
show that is sure to satisfy fans of the Sweeps as well as DC area a
cappella and live music fans of all ages.
