Lucky me , the dealer had the T/O bearing parts I needed .
And my son the NAPA parts guy is bringing home a set of wheel bearings
tonight . Oddest damn thing I ever saw , the brake side was rusty and the
race was trashed , but the pulley side was just fine . I'm replacin' them
both , just because . Still haven't got the new tire mounted on the rim ,
just ran outta time .
Y'all have another on me , I'm headed for the shower . Going to be
spending the evening picnickin' and watching fireworks with the grandkids .
You might try my buddies over on Summer Ave. You're probably tall enough to
ride a bagger<g>.

I'm not sure Buddy is still in business . The gate to the store front has
been locked every time I've gone past for quite a while now .
Ennyweigh , got the bike all finished for now , did the clutch cable and
T/O bearing , new 40/30 amp start relay (original was 30/20) , new 40 amp
main breaker (30a original) rear tire and wheel bearings , and oils (trans
and motor) changed .
I haven't installed a separate circuit from the battery for the acc
circuit yet , wanted to see if the new 'lectric parts made any difference
first - and it's not that hard to get access to the battery and related
stuff to do it later . Also , I want to check grounds first as someone else
suggested . I did a short test ride , there is some improvement ...
Looked the old tire over , there's 4 spots where you can see the cord
pattern thru a very thin layer of rubber . That trashed T/O bearing Shirley
saved me a lot of grief ... and speaking of Shirley , it's time for another
round !
