"Beertender, a round for the house on me, when you have
a moment, please!"

Bike Week '98 holds some of my best memories.
Here are some pics I pulled from the archives
and which I'd like to share with ya'll.

Take a peek, if you're so inclined.

(Btw, this link goes to a page and then
there's another link to the thumbnails.
The second link's URL - on the left under
"Photo Album" - is a mile long so that's
why I put *this* link here. <cough>)

http://communities.msn.com/CJsHarleyDavidsonTributeV2

You'll also find some pics of my niece,
Kara, age 19 months. Simply adorable.
No, I'm not biased. <sfsf>

"Beertender, there are some empties here.
I know where the kegs are, I'll do it myself,
thanks."

I rode my Sporty to Biketoberfest in '97 - one leg
(stopping for candy bars, coffee, and Mother Nature)
of 900-some miles from Pennsylvania to Daytona.

Enjoyed a wild time in '97 with my AOL buddies
from their chat room Big Twin.

"Beertender, better have some shots for the house.
I mentioned America Online."

Was looking forward to Bike Week, but balking
at the hotel costs. I posted to this fine
establishment that I was planning on sleeping
on my bike instead of forking out the
dollars for a room.

Jinks replied with info on a campsite he's
quite familiar with. I rode to Daytona for
Bike Week '98 knowing I had a place to stay
that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg.

This trip I stopped over instead of going
without sleep. Slab riding is a blast.
I know I've heard that Sturgis is much more
enjoyable for riders with all the scenery
and twisty roads, but I love riding a hundred
miles at a clip switching lanes and being
"washed" to the left as I pass eighteen
wheelers.

Once I made it to the campground, Jinks
took mercy on my bald-headed soul and set me
up with a place to sleep. I'm sure he must
have thought, "The boy didn't even bring a
tent!" He never said a word about that though.

Thank you, Jinks.

Then wolfpup and more friends and family added
to the fun.

http://www.geocities.com/curt_james/mouse.html

Stokely's master put his creativity
and good humor in action by printing up a
place card that read "AOL Card Table" which
they set on a little table that I posed (but
didn't wave) behind. (see sig)

Well, like I said, the link leads
to a few pictures of the good people who
contributed to some very good times.

"Beertender, another round for the house,
when you have a moment, please."

I'm looking forward to getting something
to attach to my chrome battery cover
at some point in time.

Here's a step in the right direction:

Tomorrow I will be at the Shippensburg
Area Middle School meeting with their art
teacher, Ms. Denise Simmers, and her
learning support students.

There's just scant info at this URL, but it
does show a pic of the middle school.

http://web2.caiu.k12.pa.us/sasd/index.html

Starting in January '01 I'll be serving
as a long-term substitute teacher for
Ms. Simmers who is taking a sabbatical.
I'll be there until summer vacation as
the school's art teacher.

I'm certified to teach art in Pennsylvania
schools, but I'm currently working at a
mall job for _American_ Eagle Outfitters
(with clothing made in Russia, Sri Lanka,
R.O.C., Mexico, Thailand, ... the socks
are "Made in USA" as well as the ladders
and a filing cabinet).

Funny, nothing made in Canada.
What's up with that?

[Note to Canadians: Hey, ya'll runnin'
around nekkid up there?]

"Beertender, I'll make my way to the deep
sink area ASAP. How much is my bar bill?
Okay, I'll see ya'll in a few days or so
as I make a dent in my tab."

I've been in one of those stores in PA with a friend that lives up there.
She's like a size negative, and says that is the only place she can find
shorts that fit.

Red Green is in pre-production negotiations on an exclusive line of
Duct-tape apparel.

Ooo. Art. I love art. Can't draw worth beans, but I'm infatuated with art
history. I'm thinking about taking a few classes in Art history when I get
to college. Art, along with Literature, Philosophy, and History, is one of
my favorite subjects.

Ha! I'll probably be flipping burgers. It's either McDonalds or teaching.

Rather popular preppy clothes. AEO is right up there with Abercrombie and
Fitch. Oddly enough, I shop at Kohls.

Ah! Here's a penny I found. Put this towards the tab.

Thanks, Rosie. I thought of you today as I was
driving to work. The car in front of mine
had an otter on their license plate. Pennsylvania
has that critter as one of the optional animals
for their plates.

Thanks, Nancy. She's no Viking, but she's

Thanks for the penny there, Mr. Big Spender. ;-)

As an undergrad, I took a ton of art history.
The 'monster book' was H.W. Janson's History of Art.

I'm no art historian though. My favorite art is
2D stuff, especially cartoons.

Norman Rockwell is finally getting his due
respect as an artist/cartoonist.

Anyway...

Here's one penny courtesy of Requiem. I'll
be in the deep sink working off the rest.
Thanks!"

Congratulations to your brother!

I believe I have other pics of Stokely on disk. I'll
post them to geocities after I get permission from wolfpup
... and, of course, if I can find the disk.

Just another reason why I like you, R.E.
