Shirley, plastics on the bar, serve em at will!!

I broke down and picked up a cheap impact wrench today. A Campbell
Hausfeld 1/2" drive. Brandy new for $18.99. The 1 3/16' and 1 1/2'
impact sockets cost more than the wrench cause the only place in town
that had them was NAPA!!!

Anyway

Everyone that offered an opinion or method, I appreciate your input. I
even had locals telling me it was a throw out bearing!

After I pulled the clutch basket out I went over to Kickstarts and he
tried to find various things to compress it with. Typical father, the
kid hid them all!! We went over to a local indy, Mac, to see if he
had anything to compress it with. Of course he had a nifty device
that Danny and I will make a copy of and prolly never use again!!

The first thing I noticed was the little brass disk like parts falling
out with the plates! It seems the spring set had most of the rivets
wore off! Threw those and the 3 damaged plates out and dropped in a
total of five plates. 3 steel and 2 clutch plates. It will go back
in tomorrow and I'll let all ya'll know how it works out!!

danl the no longer clutchless Slug #280
