Been there, done that. :-) Used to blow up all the models I built
years ago till I got in to military stuff. That's when the kits
started to cost a lot more. The Command Car and 6X6 kits at the link I
gave in my previous message cost about $30 to $35 each. The halftrack
was about $25. Now I give them away or build them for friends. The
Command Car was bought by another member in a military vehicle club
that I dealt with, the 6X6 Dodge was done with markings to represent
the club president's full size truck and given to him as a gift, and
the halftrack I donated to the military vehicle club which they
auctioned off and used the money it raised to help pay for some of the
shows they do. I just bought a new kit of a Japanese armored vehicle
(http://tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=35275) that I plan
on painting gloss red to look like an SUV (with a machine gun on top).
Plus I have several semi truck kits that cost about $60 each waiting
to be built next (along with about 100 other kits ranging from muscle
cars to airplanes). You would think that after having spent 9 years in
Alaska I would have had enough time to get all of them built by now.
At least I have something to work on during the week while playing Mr.
Mom and watching cartoons with the kids.

I haven't built a kit since about 1995. That's about when I
went from the hobby of Kit Building to the hobby of
Kit Collecting. It is an equally valid and lucrative hobby. :^)

As an aside, when I got into biking around 1995, I went to the
