As a late teen, and also as a silly adult well into my late 20's, I used
to love Wendy's.

So much so, that me and a friend of mine used to take turns driving our
hot rod cars after payday, just to see who could eat the most... and
still "drag main" without throwing up!

I had my 1970 Olds W-30,(455 CID) and he had his 1969 Camaro where we
shoe horned in a NOS (New old stock) 1969 427 with a tri-power intake.

We both loved the WENDY TRIPLES! (Who wouldn't?)

So we both started our entre with two triples!

While he wanted two large fries and a massive coke with them, I went
with the baked potatoe with everthing, a large frosty, and an iced tea!

Then we went "street racing" from stop light to stop light.

Sadly, Joe's car was an OEM '69 that had its original Saginaw 4 speed
from a 6 cyl, and a rear-end that lit only one tire at a time. So it
spent most of it's time melting one tire... and going nowhere.

My 442 however, had a stock Muncie M22 (ROCK CRUSHER) and a 4:10 rear
that would LAUNCH that 4k+ pound car into the next time zone as soon as
my left foot slipped off the clutch.

It was funny to watch his Wendy burger bounce through his neck and down
his gullet, when I popped the clutch unexpectantly!

Sadly, he topped me off, and eventually won, when he did THREE Wendy
Triples, two large fries, a large frosty, AND two big cokes!

Sigh, Ok here we go. Not according to the food police. They both
ingested enough sodium, and calories for several day's, in one
sitting.

True, true, thanks for ruining my self appointed controversy!! Like
the country song stated. It was a different world.

Well, off to put a battery charger on the old iron head, and clean the
gutter, for the rain and snow. Bring in some firewood.

I just can't get into that Hokey "country" voicing as displayed there.

There is only ONE "Country/Western" song that I ever enjoyed, and it was
written by Frank Zappa.

I'm with you there. Song had a nice message, but I just can't get past the
"twang factor".
