Did you try entering either your address, city or zipcode in the
"search" box. It then should give you a dialog box. I did this and for
a moment it didn't work as designed but on the second try it did (???)

I tried it about 6 times. I got no dialog box, only a map of my
neighborhood. I tried clicking on "mesage board" and some other links,
but no go.

I just double clicked on the zoomed in map and it made a pointer.
I didn't think of using the search function.

Now I'm sorta blocking Scotty. Sorry dewd.

Zoom in and take a virtual walk to Roost Beach!

I wonder how I inform the map makers of errors. They've got my
neighborhood streets all screwd up. Kelsey goes over next to
Overshores West. And Blakeman goes where they have Lee. Lee is then
siamesed right next to Blakeman with a fence between them.

Jim is right, rather than using the search function, you can just
drill in to your location and click the map. I first placed my marker
by zip code, nowhere near my house. Then I poked in my street address,
it left my little devil sitting in the middle of the street, can't
have that, might get run over. I deleted it and zoomed in on my house.
I'm now safe and sound sitting on the roof over my garage. If anyone
is in the neighborhood, could you drop off a ladder? I need to go
inside and pee...

I also placed a marker at my favorite camping spot at Baumgartner.

First, I just put my pointer on Smackover. Then, I zoomed in really
close, and added a pointer for Deb, right to the east side of our
house.
(The Wudsracer Family TightSingleTrack practice trail takes up the
whole area under and around the trees immediately to the west and
northwest of the house.)
If you look to the north of my house, across the railroad tracks,
and off to the east, you can see the swamps to which I have referred
in the past. There is more water in amongst the trees at the moment,
than the satellite photo shows.
If one follows the rr tracks to the east a few miles out of town, to
where the rr makes a large "S" curve, and look east of the tracks and
south of the "All Gulf Road", one can see where I make my living.
At one time, I had 12.5 miles of tight single track "workout trail"
on the lease and the neighboring 320 acres.

Sorry, shoulda clued you in on that "feature" I did the same thing when I
set up the one for STP.

By the way, not that I'm spreading paranoia or anything, but a wise man once
pointed out to me that it might not be such a good idea to throw out an
exact home address on a public map when it is so easy for a perp to query up
your post history and see that maybe you have a garage out back with a
crappy lock and 20 or so really cool dirtbikes inside. Course if they show
up with the intention of taking mine for a spin, they may also get to meet
Messer's Ruger, Smith, Wesson, Mossberg, Browning et al. My pointer is not
on the house, but you can walk to it from this spot.

Normally, I don't keep bikes at the house, unless they are in the
truck. Guns are a different story, The sign on the front porch says,
"Never mind the dog. Beware the owner."
My favorite business combination is the 12 ga pump and the .45 acp
Combat Commander. The others are more recreational in nature.
(I have to make night time security rounds. Trespassers will be
violated.)

Sorry to hear that.

Sell the bikes outright during the Christmas season when Mom and Dad are
willing to pay a bit more to ensure their young'uns happiness and then pick
something up when the deals hit mid-winter.

Midwinter may already be hitting here in the south, there are some fairly
good buys out there now.

Couple of examples.

around here the nice ones are 1200-1500 or so
when one hits the 1000 mark in a month or two

Yeah, I am still hoping to get 15 for mine, but it only has about 20
hours on it. It did have an overheating problem for a while but some
jetting adjustment took care of that... I will let you all know if it
comes down to a grand, give you all first dibs.

Kinda OT here, but on the map, pan up to Fairbanks, AK, zoom in and
follow the white haze trail to the NE, then zoom in again 'til you see
the source of the haze.

OK, I'm on the map. Twice. Look for batman, er.. Spodely in Romania
and Iraq. I'll figure out where on the US map sometime in April.

http://www.mapservices.org/myguestmap/map/idaspode

Also, most of the map I searched is older than 2005. My NC and FL
locations are pre-2005 as neither home is there. Just dirt. As for
Iraq, naturally, no sat. photos since 2004 for most of the country.

How did you delete your character and place a new one?
I can't find anything about delete or how to place the icon
at a new location.

Depends on which admin button DJ clicked. One permits everyone access to
edit their own, the other sets it as an admin only function. Default is
admin only.

That is so cool! What luck taking the shots when Keith and Manda were
out riding their two-stink WRs!!

I have that box checked, but it says:

"Allow users to edit/delete own markers
(check if you want to allow your users to edit or remove the markers
they placed themselves. This will give them 1 hour to fix any
misplaced markers!)"

I deleted your marker Jeff, try again.

Didn't notice the action had a time stamp to it. Good to know. BTW, glad to
have you back roaming the trails in rmd, it really perked things up in here!
We haven't seen this much activity in quite a while.

The map/image of my neighborhood had to have been updated in the last
two years, but not in the last 18 mos. It does show my home with its
new roof, installed about 2 yrs ago but not my shop, finished in May
of last year.

Thanks Keith, old/new blood and all that... Now if I can just keep
myself from getting in trouble by keeping my mouth shut when
appropriate I should be fine.

BTW, is the keith_warrennospam@***.net (w/o the "nospam") a good email
address ? I'll add you to the email list.
