So, let's use an example of a part which I seek rather than one I'm
spamming.
I desire a sprocket side cover for a 2000 XR80R. (only $35 at cheap
cycle parts dot calm, so I'll likely spring for newness and this may
be a poor example)
Let's say I was searching ebay for one, or trying to list one. Either
way, it'd be a shame to miss an identical part listed under another
model or model year, or miss a buyer who's looking for a different
model or model year. So, how many models and years does that part fit?
Anybody know an efficient way to do that search?
Right now I guess I'm most interested in Honda and Yamaha just because
that's my inventory.
I found one good vendor that actually gives the Honda part numbers as
well as their own, but now I can't seem to find the bookmark. I really
need to get organized.
Bike parts do well, but it's hard to beat a barbie collection pulled
form a dumpster that sells for $197 plus S&H. And the lady who bought
them is positively giddy.
TIA,
Dean
OK, now I feel stupid.
I've been using their site but never dug deep enough.
1) Find their part number for the subject part.
2) Use their general search to do "OEM Parts Search", using
"Manufacturer", and their part number.
3) On the results page, under the blue "ADD TO CART" click the "Fits
machines".
Bingo.
Fits XR 80R and XR 100R 1990-2003
also 2006 Honda NSF100
<wtf...tappitytap, click, click.... mmm... ungf... I'm in love>

Not that it will do you any good, but for KTM parts I use this link
from KTMTalk:
http://173.74.246.25/munnracing/index.cfm
Find part in question via: KTM OEM Parts Microfiche in left margin,
copy part # then paste in the Cross Reference box, top center.

You don't deserve a sprocket side cover...
Or a horse.

Hey!! It's the good lookin' half of The Brothers!
How's it going, buddy? How's your health?
Any new chunks of brain missing or anything?
It's good to see you here!
Tami-
Well lets see...gotta go back in under the knife and get my right
cheek (face type cheek) and eye socket replaced - it seems my body is
rejecting the plastic that is in there from one of my head on
accidents back in the 80's. So I have more drugs to look forward to
and a bit of a break from riding. CRAP
Other than that I am just in the background lurking and actually
wondering what Jeff might look like with breasts. ???
You appear to be well these days and are always in my thoughts when it
comes to the riding I used to do down there when I lived there. Say
hi to Eric - and keep looking forward to the "Fest".

Dang, dude...you can't seem to catch a break, can you?
I, too, had some reconstruction on my face back in the 80's. Ran into
a door jamb, thought I just broke my nose, docs went in to fix it and
found the eye sockets shattered, too. And now I get to worry about it
one day rearing its ugly head and causing me problems. Thanks alot...

I've never actually wondered that, myself. I guess I'm just funny that
way <shrug>

Yeah, I'm doing alright! I busted myself up pretty good about 18
months ago. I go in on Dec 2nd to get the 13 screws and 2 plates
removed from my ankle. It hurts a lot every day and I'm having a hard
time getting any decent boots over the grossly bulging ankle bone so
I'm really looking forward to it.
Eric and I have been doing a lot of adventurey dualsport stuff,
camping off the big bikes and such. Here's a ride we did last May...

and kind of the same area in September...

It's fun, gets me out of the house, and is easy on the body and the
equipment. I'm in the market for a new 2-stroke trail machine now,
though. Gotta get back to the good stuff! The new GG's are looking
good, as are the Husky WR's.
Say hi to your brother for me, and good luck with the face surgery.
Did you ask them to make you as good looking as Baxter? I would, if I
were you.
