A friend of mine has a helmet that the chin part flips down so he can
smoke without taking off his helmet. He rides an ATV so don't hold
that against him. :-)

Anyway, what kind of helmet is it and who makes them? Can I get them
online? I tried searching but came up dry or I couldn't really tell
from the pics. Any ideas?

TIA

How about flip up? Like these:

No, those apparently flip up. His flipped down and had a more of a off-
road look to it, rather than the road-biker look.

Could it been a really old helmet?

there was an older open face helmet type, that has the snap on faceguard, or
even rivited on? I had one, it got old and you could move the faceguard
down and drink a pop. wasn't much defense in a crash, but deflected the
roost when riding, back before full face was the norm. before that I had
the goggle type face mask, lol.

the flip up kind do not play nice with goggles (uses face shield)

i remember JcWhitney having a movable chin type.

If you are going to ride slow enough to smoke... I'd just go open
face... :)

LOL..........funny guy! Sometimes it is cold and rainy and I don't
want to take off my helmet to eat, drink, smoke or whatever.

It wasn't an old style. It looked to be no older than a couple years
at best. All I got out of him is that his wife bought it for him at
the Honda shop. The local Honda shop I stopped in didn't know anything
about them. He wore regular goggles with it too.

I think I found it. It is a AFX Brand. Model fx-85. His was Camo
colored and they don't show it in a camo color, but no big deal.

Thanks guys,

Hank
