generators in the first decade of the last century. Electricity was
used to power the ore mill on the edge of town. The building has
been renovated & is used as a residence, with at least one generator
running to provide power. There is a tramway for the residents to
make trips to and from town in the winter.

It's a running joke in ADVrider. Certain folks in the Rockies forum
got bent out of shape when folks started posting pictures of their
favorite trails, for fear the area would get overrun. It's also used
as a locator for "secret" trails.

Cool report. When I was in Ouray, Kansas 3 summers ago we went over
some of those passes in a rented Jeep. Fun, but I'd rather do it on a
bike. Nobody knew they had mountains like that in Kansas, but I'll try
to keep it secret as well.

Sure was great riding! With Laramie just under 7200', it was
astonishing to realize that the lowest valleys in the area are still
~2000'+ higher. No missing the extra huffing & puffing after picking
up my bike a couple of times...

Yah, this was right around 12k'. After pushing my bike up that bad
section, I just had to stop and pant for a minute. I think I was

made around Scott's race schedules. We're holding out hope for a
pretty ambitious race schedule next year, too.

I don't love relentless rock gardens for the sake of relentless rock
gardens, at any altitude.
Throw in some oxygen withdrawl and my general sloppy skills... I'd be
holding up the group.
Remember Scott and HWP waiting for the big group on the way to
Atlanta? They were waiting for something like 45 minutes. I was not
the last up, but I only got maybe 5-10 minutes break. Whose WR200 was
that? Dennis, right? Great bike. Easy to ride.

to my east I've ridden probably over 1000 times. That's like... way over a
million feet in total.
