Does anybody know how the scalloped cutouts inside the fuselage windows
aft of the cockpits on P-40s E - M were painted? I've seen them
represented in color plates as the interior color (Dull Dark Green, I
suppose, in light of recent revelations) and as the exterior camouflage
color around the windows. It's really hard to tell from photographs,
especially b&w, because of the reflectance of the glass. Any help will be
appreciated. Pip Moss, IPMS 26195

HI,
Most of my references on these areas on P-36/40 aircraft indicate that
they were painted the same color as the interior of the aircraft. After all,
they are technically part of the inside of the aircraft.
