Hi,
I tried using acrylic paint to paint 1/35 military figures, but I not
satisfied with the result. I read from r.m.s. that best result is achieved
by using artist oil, but I am not familiar with this.
Can some one tell me how to use artist oil to mix the colour for painting
1/35 military figures. Like using what colour in what ratio etc. and tips of
painting with artist oil.
Please reply me via email benn...@mbox4.singnet.com.sg
Thank you
Benjamin Loo

As a sometime landscape painter I never worried about 'ratio's'.I just put the
color on a palet and mixed till it looked right.
The nice thing about oils is that the colors look the same wet or dry.If it
looks right on the palet it'll look right on your figure.
Also, since it takes so long for the oils to dry,if you don't like your first
attempt you can easily clean it off and try again..
Good luck,

Bob

Ben,

Exact ratios are kind of hard to give since they may differ per each individuals
taste. You might want to pick up "Verlinden Way # 5". It gives you a better
idea of what is involved in using oils on figures, etc. Not indorsing its
purchase (borrow it if you can), however, it was VERY effective in increasing
the quality of my finished products.

Hope this helps,
