Loads of models in local newsagents and the marvellous models shop (Avicraft
of Chatterton Road, Bromley).
What's more, there seemed to be a lot less graffiti, vandalism and 'hanging
around on street corners looking surly and bored'.
Now, I'm certainly not going to claim that the hobby of scale modelling
could be the panacea of society's ills, but I do wonder that youth seem to
keep hearing the message that they need more Youth Centres and the like to
avoid them being bored and getting in to trouble. My point being, my friends
and I seemed to have more ability to entertain ourselves. And it wasn't just
modelling, any kind of playing, or just going to the local park and woods
with my dog, with or without my friends.
So, anyway, as a quick and dirty method of seeing of model making is popular
across the board or just with us children of the pre-80's, how old are you?
I'm 37.

Just the other day, I caught part of "Battle of the Bulge" on some cable
channel. At one point, there was a scene where a bunch of the big,
grey-painted M-47's doubling for King Tigers were coming through the
forest...all buttoned up - and I get that they were much too close together,
but here's the bit I'm unsure of....the were all waving their turrets back &
forth...barrrels swinging this way & that, like dogs sniffing for rabbits,
almost.........I was thinking that each track would have an assigned sector to
cover, wouldn't they, or do tanks really drive around waggling their guns back
& forth?
Thanks for clearing this up.
