Question about painting plastic parts ( priming )

Hello all !
i am back to modeling at 32 and i have a question regarding painting
or priming the plastic parts before final paint.

I mainly do motorcycles models, and i was wondering, is it good to
prime-paint ALL the parts to painted before painting them or just
apply paint direct on plastic.

I noticed on some Tamiya models, that the paint does not stick as good
and looks shitty ( sorry ) ....

I prime all the parts, use car paint, dries nice and smooth and gives a good
surface for the paint to stick too, i dont do bikes but i guess its the same
as with planes
