I would suggest that you try spray cans of white paint rather than
attempting to brush on a white finish. White has got to be one of the
hardest colors to brush on without piling on tons of paint.

Good luck,
Don

A good tip is to thin the paint a little more than whith usual painting.
Work fast when brushing an let the paint flow on the model. The
disadvantage is that youll need several layers to get a good coverage,
other wise the plastic will shine through. I painted 7-8 layers myself
under special conditions. The paint may become thick but youll eliminate
those brushmarks.
Good Luck

1: find yourself a dustfree workplace/drying place. Preferable a raft
about a mile out from the beach. :-) . I've used the bathroom with
reasonable results.

2: Use Humbrol Enamels from their latest series. You'd want gloss for
an airliner.

3: Use high (artist grade) quality watercolor brush of generous size
(no. 8). Synthetic is fine. Still expensive but doesn't cost quite as
many fortunes as a sable brush.

4: Apply paint rapidly, evenly and very thinly. Don't worry about it
being completely transparent. I don't think thinning the paint is
necessary, but you could consider it.

5: Allow 6 - 8 hours for curing. Repeat step 4.

6/7/8/9 etc: Repeat step 5 until white is opaque. If surface collects
dustspots, remove with 1200 wet paper.

Finish: Wet sand surface with 1200 grit paper. Apply final coat.

I use Krylon spray paint for my airliners, then coat with Future for the
final gloss coat. Krylon is available at your local home improvement store
in large cans for only $2 - $3. It's a whole lot cheaper than modelers
paint, BUT, don't spray it over hobby paints. It needs to be the bottom
coat. Use the basic colors like white, black, silver.
