Hi
I was Handed Down a R/C Many Many years Ago and Its been in the
Garage For some time Now. As I now have a boy of my own and being a
Big Boy myself :-) I decided to have a go at getting it running - Its
a little beat up so restoring it is Going take a lot of sanding Etc..

But wot I was wondering about is the Engine It has a crest with the
name "frog" between two wings and "Trade mark FROG" "made in UK"
Underneath - not knowing anything about r/c boating i just wondered if
anyone had heard of this company or knew if these engines were decent,
Its Deisel with a water jacket that collects Piped water from just
behind the prop (using the prop as a pump) and ejects it from the side

It still has good compression but ill be darned if i could get the
thing to fire after hours turning a leather string on the flywheel so
im going to strip down and give a good clean. just wondered if it was
worth replacing with a modern equivelent or wether the engine being
vintage is worth the trouble.

cheers in advance...

FROG = Flies Right Off (the) Ground

UK company (obviously from the name) first making engines for aircraft,
later adapted to marine (water cooling & flywheel) the name implying how
simple it was to get their engines going straight out of the box. Though
not after (possibly) 50 years! The company closed many (many) years ago.

Others may know more of the history of the company and perhaps what
model of engine you have and how to restore it to working order...
