Just looking in at getting into helicopters, and I have a Futaba Super 7
FP-T7UAF radio. I looked through the manual and read that it has various
helicopter mixings and such. So, at the risk of sounding ignorant, Can
this radio (with the addition of a servo or 2 (I have have new S148
servos) be used with all the gyros and helicopters on the market? Also,
whats a good beginner choper? .. or what should i look for?

Thanks!

P.S. Can anyone in the Clearwater FL area tell me were there is a club
or airstrip where you can fly out of (not full scale) .

No problem! I have a super 7, and it works great on my Hawk II. I'm using a
single rate piezo gyro and separate collective/throttle servos. I even
understand that the radio can (?) support CCPM setups. The only drawback that
I'm aware of with the super 7 is that the switch layout for idle-up and
throttle hold is different from what has apparently become "standard" with the
current JR and Futaba radios. Otherwise, I love mine!

The Futaba Super 7 is a great radio for beginer and intermediate flyers. I
have had mine for 6 years and used it in my Shuttle and X-Cell 60. I am now an
intermediate flyer trying to become an advanced flyer and bought a Futuba 8UHP.
I did so because I needed better mixing functions on the tail rotor. The bad
news is I just bought a CSM gyro and now I don't use the tail rotor mixing
functions at all. The gyro is that good! The Futaba Super 7 is a great radio
so stay with it unless you have money to blow.
