Convert marine engine to air?

I have a K&B .40 marine engine that no longer gets used.Can I change the
head to air cooled and use it for aircrafts? If this is possible, would
it be worth my while to look at Diesel heads?

Yep, just change the head to the aircraft head..As to the diesel head..I think
you should forget it..you can probably come close to buying a new motor for the
cost.

I think you will need to also get the prop drive washers and a nut as
well as the head to complete the conversion. You may want to check the
port timing as many boat engines ran a lot faster than their airborne
counterparts.
