I am interested in establishing contact with fellow rail enthusiasts
(world-wide) to assist me with a visual publishing and Art project I am in the
early stages of putting together.
I am interested in receiving *personal* photographic archive material
of Rail subjects (all types, eras, geographical locations etc.) with a view to
using this visual material as a source of reference for some oil paintings of
rail subjects I am producing.
I stress, I am *only* interested in *personal* photos/archives (which you can
either e-mail to me or send in photo form (very high quality photostats may
suffice) via snail mail as you wish) so absolutely no scans from books,
magazines or other copyrighted/published material please.
The more off-beat, unusual, exotic and strange the rail subject the better, as
long as it is visually appealing/exciting/interesting.
Regular stuff is fine too, as long as it is a great image.
Nothing is ruled out, interesting liveries, fascinating vistas (old coal mines,
quarries, vast plains, bridges etc) rusted freight vans, broken and busted
locos, sheds, signal boxes, whatever you like, as long as you think it'd make a
great picture when painted in oils.
If you wish I can e-mail you a sample of what I am in the early statges of
getting together (rough newsletter plus binary attachments of oil paintings) if
you don't mind its prototype appearance at this stage!
This is a serious, genuine approach (I pay a percentage of the eventual sale
price of the original Art for the use of the photos) and I would be very pleased
to hear from you if you should be interested in participating.
