I need help finding a primer that will stick and not crack on the kind
of plastic used for handrails and 1/72 figures like the old airfix. The
plastic used today seems to be more flexible and when I try to paint it
, it the paint cracks and peels away. I have been thoroughly cleaning
the plastic before priming and using acrylic paints. Any help would be
appreciated. Jack Martin

Have you tried a very light misting with an automotive type primer? Just
enough to provide tooth, not so much as to obscure detail.

I've seen it posted in this message board a couple of times on using womens
nail polish for painting the plastic hand rails on model locomotives, they are
flexable and they come in a wide range of colors now days.

Yes, agree with Wolf. Primed a bunch of 1960's Airfax and seems to do the
trick.
