Many people can still remember the days when their journeys were
enhanced by the framed pictures which kept them company in British
railway compartments during the age of steam. From the mid 1930s to
the late 1960s, trains virtually became travelling art galleries!
This Carriage Print "The River Wharfe, Ilkley, Yorkshire" by Frank
Sherwin RI is from the LNER POST-WAR SERIES. This design was first
used by the LNER and was later adopted by BR. This original carriage
print was issued by the between 1945 and 1959 (Sorry specific age not
known)
