I suspect it's very much like Accuflex, but thought I'd tap the
collective knowledge of this group before trying it.

Hi Tom
Spray ProColor at the 20-25 PSI max that most small air compressors have,
you don't really need more air than that (unlike the Accuflex which sprays
best at higher pressures). You _can_ thin ProColor 20% (ie, 4 paint to 1
water) but Bob (Burkholz) doesn't really recommend it. You should use the
largest spray tip for the airbrush.
BTW, this stuff is pretty incredible. At MRIA last year, they were spraying
it on aluminum foil, no primer, then after five minutes crumpled up the foil
and spread it back out and the paint didn't chip or peel. They would spray
a car, wait five minutes, then spray it a different color without any bleeding.
They sprayed for nine hours without taking the brush apart to clean it, they
just ran water through it until it sprayed clean, then screw on another paint
bottle. I was next to their booth for MRIA, and it was impressive stuff. Also
there was no odor or fumes _at_all_.
The paint goes on thick, as most water-based paints do, then dries _very_
thin. Detail after 20-30 coats on the same car at MRIA was still good. Detail
under 1-2 coats is excellent. The paint does not use an extender, as it will
not dry in your brush in reasonable working times. If you need to set the
brush down for 10 minutes or more, run water through the brush. The surface
you get is not flat, not gloss; decals adhere directly without any additional
surface prep.
AFAIK, there was some initial connection between Bob Burkholz and the
Accuflex product, though I'm not sure what all happened. The ProColor
product is his newest shot at the hobby-paint-to-end-all-hobby-paints. He
just might have it this time.
Note: Standard disclaimer may not apply. All the above is my firmly held
opinion of this paint as I saw it used at MRIA last year, but Bob Burkholz is
also a friend of mine.
