* Budo For Food IV *
The NDG Karate Club will host the 4th annual Budo For Food charity event on
Sunday, December 12th at the NDG YMCA from 1PM-3PM.
Budo for Food is the largest free and charitable martial arts demonstration in
the Montreal area. For the admission cost of one canned good or
non-perishable food item, visitors will be treated to an afternoon of varied
martial arts demonstrations, as presented by schools and individuals from and
around the Montreal area.
Presenters include:
* NDG Karate Club
* Kido Kan Martil Art
* The Montreal Capoiera Zoo
* The Downtown YMCA Karate Club
* Phil Gelinas Kajukenbo & Kali Club
* Wado-Ryu Club Esprit
* The Shidokan Internal Club
* Tri-Star Kickboxing
Demonstrations will cover diverse martial arts including:
* Karate (kicks, punches, strikes)
* Jiu-Jitsu (grappling, holds, lock, and throws)
* Brazilian, Phillipino, and Thai martial arts
* Knife, stick, and sword-fighting
* Kickboxing
* Boxing
* Self-defence and children's Karate
The NDG Food Depot will be the recepient of the donated food items. In the
past, more than 300 spectators have provided in excess of $3,000 in food
donations each year.
