Savage inequalities, indeed. This book, by Jonathon Kozol, is a
testimony to the injustice and brutality of the American public school
system. After spending two years touring some of the country's best and
worst schools, Kozol put together a terrifying and heartbreaking summary
of everything that is wrong with public education. Schools without
running water, trash collection, or text books. Students who are
sentenced to live in fatally toxic conditions without hope of escape.
Teachers who work for less than minimum wage in over-crowded classrooms
under threat of violence. If you haven't read this book, you should. It
will open your eyes to a world of anger and pain that many of us never
get to see.

The public school system in the U.S. is set up so that the majority of
funding comes directly from local property tax. In affluent
neighborhoods, this means low tax rates on high-value property vs. a
destitute neighborhood's high tax rates on low-value property. This
creates a situation in which the wealthy can effortlessly raise a
surplus of money for their children's educations, whereas the poor tax
themselves at an exorbitant rate just to meet a bare minimum. Many would
argue that state and federal funding is available, therefore the
inequalities are remedied. That's actually not true.
Here's why:

The federal government counts property tax as a tax deduction.
Therefore, the wealthier you are (and the more property tax you paid to
your school district), the more money you get back as a subsidy.   In
other words, Uncle Sam paid the rich for being rich and left the poor to
fend for themselves.

Not only did the government screw the poor through subsidy, they also
stole a great deal of their best real estate. The number of entirely
tax-free institutions, like colleges, museums, hospitals etc, are in
cities. We don't normally think of these institutions as having a
negative effect on an area, but if you look at it from an economic
standpoint, they actually add to the inequality. Kozol cites 30% or more
of the potential local tax base for cities as being tax-exempt, compared
to perhaps 3% in the suburbs. The children who live in these affluent
suburban areas, of course, benefit from the use of these tax-free
institutions and are far more likely to enjoy the use of universities or
museums than their impoverished urban counterparts.

Many people, even those who view themselves as liberals on other issues,
tend to grow indignant, even rather agitated, if invited to look closely
at these inequalities. "Life isn't fair," one parent in Winnetka
answered flatly when I pressed the matter. "Wealthy children also go to
summer camp. All summer. Poor kids maybe not at all... Weatlhy children
have the chance to go to Europe and have the access to good libraries,
encylopedias, computers, better doctors, nicer homes. Some of my
neighbors send their kids to schools like Exeter and Groton. Is
government supposed to equalize these things as well?"

But government, of course, does not assign us to our homes, our summer
camps, our doctors--or to Exeter. It does assign us to our public
schools. Indeed, it forces us to go to them. Unless we have the wealth
to pay for private education, we are compelled by law to go to public
school--and to the public school in our district. Thus the state, by
requiring attendance but refusing to require equity, effectively
requires inequality. Compulsory inequity, perpetuated by state law, too
frequently condemns our children to unequal lives.

What he's saying is what I have been saying for years.  There are
inarguably differences between the races and it is unrealistic to
expect blacks to conform to white cultural norms.

Education, learning, impulse control, abstract reasoning...these are
not part of some shared aptitude base of humanity.  Blacks see white
law as unduly constraining and unfair.  In the aggregate, they do not
find themselves capable of obeying it.  They simply have different
ideas as to what constitutes fairness.

One can make a clear argument that their norms are overtly destructive
to what we call "civilization" but that's what WE call civilization.
Civilization is a white and asian construct.

Look, dumbass, blacks commit more than half of the violent crime in
the USA.  It doesn't matter what their population is in any area...if
they are more than 12% of the population, they will commit a majority
of the crime.

There is NO AMOUNT OF MONEY that will make a kid with an IQ of 85
outperform one with an IQ of 105!  NONE.

The top high school in the nation, TJ, is NOT FULL of rich kids!  It
is disproportionately fuckin ASIAN.  People move here from all over
the COUNTRY so that their kids can get into this school.  It has
NOTHING to do with money!

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE for the crimes blacks commit, the property they
destroy and their OWN behaviors?

There is NO nobility in being POOR.  NONE.  You are NOT BETTER because
you are poor.

The poor are poor because they cannot engage consistently in the
BEHAVIORS necessary to become rich.

Now hand over your lunch money.

The Black Man kills one at a time and gets life in jail....the White
Man kills thousands and is rewarded.

"Civilization" to Euros is the God Given Right  to kill and enslave

We hear stories of ppl in China who make $30 a YEAR & then are told by
spoiled propagandists that "you just can't live on that minimum wage,
lest insist to raise it so that we can force more companies out of
business, spike unemployment & encourage the hiring of illegals &
sending of jobs over to where ppl will work for $30 a year". When
someone suggests to "lower" or eliminate minimum wage, then get back
with me about intelligence.

Reverse the slogans of any culture & if it seems unfair in reverse it is
unfair as is. So imagine if instead of "fight the power" it was "fight
the hood", double-standard cries of racism, Might be the Jewish ghetto
hood but watch assumptions skip to where culture has propagandized
people to see who is the "power" & who is in the "hood" or ghetto or
whatever sling term you chuck in there.

The idea of giving back to one's community sounds great, till you hear
cryes of racism if it is the perceived in power, but if it is perceived
as the deserving, vengeful, payback, persecuted victims race, it is give
back to ONLY their own culture part of the community & don't let a penny
slip to those evil other people even if they are poorer but not
culturally persecution-assumed. Same with drug addicts & drunks, can get
much more help, sympathy, etc than if you are clean cut, non-drinker,
etc, must be a rick conservative republican if they don't do weed. So
the substance abusers who steal to buy drugs, spend all their money
maybe fortunes on drugs & thus are "poor", are so sympathy-getting cause
it is the fault of the man or power or whoever they can blame besides
that they messed up their own life. Immane a world where if you had done
drugs, you were banned from public office & maybe all jobs & maybe just
executed or not approved of or anything in-between. Instead, it has
become that the non-drivers, non-abusers, non-criminals are looked upon
as the not cool, not the in-crowd & not glorified in Hollywood depiction
of supposed-reality. Cause of course Hollywood is such a fine example of
moral values....

Anyways, it is the culture though, Fight the propaganda, get educated,
become a productive part of the power, empower yourself, dare to be
different, not the cooky-cutter so-called-rebel conforming to the
propaganda culture of hate & victimhood.

Don't depend on "public" schools in this day & age. It is past the time
where only a few had libraries or even books & only the rich & priests
could read. Don't depend on the Teachers Union corrupted liberal
education system. get books on Amazon, read it to your kids. Get old
books in re-print, rather than revised books where Mexicans won the US
civil war for us & other revisions & skewed 'visions" of history such as
that Women made everything (ala feminism rewriting of history).

Who discovered X-rays? It was NOT Madam Curie, she just got the credit
from her husband's work after he died & they weren't even the only ones
doing the researching of it. Or versions where America was not founded
on Christian values or the German WWII Holicost of the jews didn't
occur, etc altered to suide agendas.
