Pam Geller's atlasshrugs site, has this article today. I support her
vote for this day.

------------------

Hero 2009! Kuffir of the Moment! Infidel of the Year Award! Jasper
Schuringa!

My hero! Here is my vote for kuffir of the year! Make that filthy kaffir
of the year! Infidel stud. Has Obama brought him up on charges yet. Any
hate crime charges pending?

Meet the Northwest flight 253 hero

His name is Jasper Schuringa:

Jasper_schuringa The passenger who tackled a suspected
terrorist on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 said Saturday that hes
happy to be alive.

Jasper Schuringa, a video director and producer from Amsterdam,
told CNN how he helped the cabin crew to subdue Umar Farouk
Abdulmutallab, the 23-year-old who reportedly ignited a small explosive
device on board the plane Friday as it prepared to land in Detroit.

Schuringa said he heard a sound that reminded him of a
firecracker and someone yelling, Fire! Fire!

But he was only certain something was wrong when he saw smoke.
He saw Abdulmutallab's pants open and he was holding a burning object
between his legs.

"I pulled the object from him and tried to extinguish the fire
with my hands and threw it away," Schuringa said.

He said he then screamed for water and pulled Abdulmutallab out
of his seat and dragged him to the front of the plane.

Schuringa told CNN that Abdulmutallab seemed out of it and "was
staring into nothing."

To ensure the suspect did not have other explosives on his
body, Schuringa stripped off Abdulmutallab's clothes. He then handcuffed
the alleged attacker with the help of a crew member.

Schuringa said the other passengers applauded as he returned to
his seat and that he sustained minor injuries during the take down.

"My hands are pretty burned. I am fine," he said. "I am shaken
up. I am happy to be here."

And your fellow travelers are happy you were there as well Mr.
Schuringa.

His Facebook page is here... I suspect he'll get a ton of friend
requests.

Not the security forces- they knew of this guy for two years. Just like
the Ft Hood homicidist. But the bright side of the story is the guy who
jumped him did....

"...A Dutch airline passenger told The Post how he leapt into action
when an alleged Muslim terrorist tried to blow up a Detroit-bound
airliner packed with 300 people just moments before landing.
Chaos erupted as alleged terrorist Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, 23, tried
to set off a sophisticated explosive device strapped to his body.

"Suddenly, we hear a bang. It sounded like a firecracker went off," said
Jasper Schuringa, a film director who was traveling to the US to visit
friends.

"... everybody panicked ... Then someone screamed, Fire! Fire!"
Schuringa, sitting in seat 20J, in the right-most section of the Airbus
330, looked to his left. "I saw smoke rising from a seat ... I didnt
hesitate. I just jumped," he said.
Schuringa dove over four passengers to reach Abdul Mutallabs seat. The
suspect had a blanket on his lap. "It was smoking and there were flames
coming from beneath his legs."
"I searched on his body parts and he had his pants open. He had
something strapped to his legs."
The unassuming hero ripped the flaming, molten object which resembled
a small, white shampoo bottle off Abdul Mutallabs left leg, near his
crotch. He said he put out the fire with his bare hands.
Schuringa yelled for water, and members of the flight crew soon appeared
with fire extinguishers. Then, he said, he hauled the suspect out of the
seat.
"I took him in a choke to the first class and all the people were like,
Whats going on?!"
"I dont feel like a hero," Schuringa told the Post as he recuperated
with pals. "It was something that came completely natural ... It was
something where I had to do something or it was too late."

But the problem is getting worse... so far.

Report: Flight 253 bomb built by Al-Qaeda in Yemen; aircraft saved by
failed detonator
Authorities have also uncovered a connection with the Fort Hood
jihadist's imam, Anwar al-Awlaki. "Officials: Only A Failed Detonator
Saved Northwest Flight," by Brian Ross and Richard Esposito for ABC
News, December 26:

Officials now say tragedy was only averted on Northwest flight 253
because a makeshift detonator failed to work properly.
Bomb experts say there was more than enough explosive to bring down the
Northwest jet, which had nearly 300 people aboard, had the detonator not
failed, and the nation's outdated airport screening machines may need to
be upgraded.
"We've known for a long time that this is possible," said Richard
Clarke, former counterterrorism czar and ABC News consultant, "and that
we really have to replace our scanning devices with more modern systems."
Clarke said full body scans were needed, "but they're expensive and
they're intrusive. They invade people's privacy."
Al Qaeda, said Clarke, is aware of this vulnerability in the U.S.
airport security system. "They know that this is a weakness and an
Achilles' heel in our airport security system and this is the second
time they've tried it." [...]
According to investigators, the bomb on Northwest flight 253, which was
en route from Amsterdam to Detroit when suspect Farouk Umar
Abdulmutallab allegedly detonated it, contained more than 80 grams of
PETN. The material was allegedly sewn into Abdulmutallab's underwear,
and was not detected by airport security.
The bomb was built and the plot organized, say U.S. officials, by al
Qaeda leaders in Yemen, just north of the capital city of Sanaa.
Authorities say the 23-year-old suspect spent months in Yemen being
trained for the Christmas Day suicide mission.
Investigators believe Abdulmutallab was connected to al Qaeda by the
same radical imam, American-born Anwar Awlaki, who is linked to the
American Army major accused of opening fire at Fort Hood in November.
According to investigators, the bomb used yesterday was built in Yemen
by a top al Qaeda bomb maker. [...]
Abdulmutallab, who flew from Nigeria to Amsterdam and then Detroit, was
taken into custody at the Detroit airport and was interviewed by
authorities there. He was then taken to an area hospital to be treated
for burns.
Abdulmutallab was on a terrorism watch list, but not on a no-fly list.
Said Clarke, "So once again, we have the U.S. government, as in the case
of the Fort Hood attacks, knowing about someone, knowing that they were
suspicious, but that information didn't get to the right people in time."

It will be interesting to see the ever astute TSA tackle this new
security problem.
> A high-ranking law enforcement official told CBS News that the suspect apparently used a syringe to inject
a chemical into powder located near his groin, a technique not seen in
previous attempted attacks.
It's possible, the source said, that this incident was a test of
whether the materials could pass screening
and how effective they might be at causing damage.
Another official identified the explosive substance used as PETN,
which was carried
in a soft plastic container - possibly a condom - though much of the
packaging was destroyed in the fire.

> According to Encyclopedia Brittanica, PETN is a highly explosive, colorless organic compound, and is related to nitroglycerin..."

They should hook up the device, hook it to his balls and light his fire
with That one.

LOL.

And, yet AGAIN, my kids got pulled out of security line for another
bomb sweep. Roughly 50% of the time they travel, we are pulled aside
for extra scrutiny.

But muslims actually on the terror watch list, nope. I saw a decrepit
old lady pulled aside too. She could barely walk and had to be helped
through the checkpoint in her wheelchair. She forgot to take off some
jewelry, so off to the 2ndary.

So, according to the government, decrepit old ladies and caucasian
children under the age of 10 are your high-risk threats.

Well we cannot have someone profiling Moslems and middle eastern looking
people can we?

But muslims actually on the terror watch list, nope.

Why that would be discrimination. After all, what would Hal and Duds do
without their victims?

Obviously a very threatening terrorist.

Of course. Havent you figured that out yet. Nothing like pc. Get you killed
every time. ROE - you can only return fire ( if you are still alive).

'Cause the TSA screeners read RMA in their spare time and recognize

Who needs justification? What are you trying to muck up the works with
bureaucracy again.
