$4550 wow, crazy stuff huh? :)
You could make yourself a better knife than that and...
buy some pretty fancy equipment to make the job easy...
for about half that money. :)
YMMV

ps- BTW, what a sloppy stamping job ;)
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
OK, this guy was not optimistic starting the bidding at $9.99. 18 people
were prepared to pay more.
What makes it worth $4,550.00 ?
Oooh, that little Slater Venture boot knife I have might be worth something
then :o)
I have some crumbs of the original sheath, unfortunately it rotted away a
long long time ago.
All 'Marble's' knives/goods are highly collectable. The company was small,
had some great working designs, and used premium components and construction
techniques. They were always rather dear in price even if you had access to
them, which was also kinda rare.
The stamping is very early in the company's history, of premium materials,
and has the original sheath. The sheath is far rarer than the knife. People
who paid for a Marble's knife tended to use them heavily- and the sheath
wore out. You'll notice that it's a stake-formed sheath, so even replacing
the sheath with a lookalike is pretty improbable.
If you have two knives, you're well on your way to being a 'collector' <g>
It's all in what-you-collect and 'did you remember to bring your wallet?'.
