New juggling video site/forum

Hi,

I'm doing a project with two other friends at university and we're
creating a juggling video/forum site. The aim of it is to bring both the
videos and forums together and house them in one full site where
everything is within arms reach.

The site is still in development, but I wanted to know if anybody would be
interested in giving the site a try once it's up for testing and such.

Juggling forums is something that interest me very

The site isn't live yet because there are still a few loose ends to tie.

i give every juggling site a try, unfortuntelly most of them are pretty
dead after a month or something, i wish you could luck

I think one of the reasons for that is none of them are actually that
good. They may have one or two features that are nice, but the overall
experience isn't what you want in a juggling site.

... and I dare say there are many other besides. The last two links are
an excellent example of what happens you are fooled into believing that
the nature of a forum is more important than its users and its content.

One more for you, The Juggling Edge -
http://www.jugglingedge.com/index.php - this is another, rather different
example of how it shouldn't be done, redeemed in part by at least
bothering to have some users.

Forum interfaces, be they god or good, are uniformly horrible. Content is
the engine of a good forum, and no amount of snazzy paint jobs and spinny
wheels will disguise that, unless you have an unnatural obsession for
tacky animated emoticons and the like.

Well, about those links you send, two of them are offline.
I registered on WJF forum months ago and nobody activated my account.
About the juggling universe, I think it has a good interface, but
unfortunately there's not many people and interesting content as the
forums I cited.

I agree with you that users and content are the most important thing in
the forum.
But why we have two forums with "one-prop subject" that works and not a
general or just toss juggling one that does it too?

(ok, this forum works well, I think. But the interface is not really
friendly)

Yes, there are lots of BB-type forums, for diabolo, yo-yo, kendama, poi,
unicycling, etc. Yes, they are successful.

And there are juggling forums too, as we already know. And they are to a
greater or lesser degree not successful.

This forum works, and has done for two decades, because it is
content-driven. The forums I cited do not possess the richness and variety
of content that r.j continues to enjoy. If you find the interface
unfriendly then get another interface. Have you tried a standalone or
browser-based newsreader? The IJDb news portal? Google groups reader? If
you dislike those, then write your own interface - the data is there, you
have many choices about how you view it.

I've been hanging around r.j for about thirteen years now, and have seen
countless demands for BB-type forums come and go. Nothing I am aware of
has yet gained a toehold. This does not make it impossible, but it is
evidence that the shortcomings of a simple USENET interface do not come
close to outweighing the richness of the content that can be found here.

my friend and I some times ago started a "global social juggling site"
but we encountered many problems due to the platform we have chosen.
Mainly we need to modify the Forum with a simple query but we are not able
to do it and people that offers themselves to help us left us 'cause they
was too busy (as we are).
Maybe you can consider a collaboration or something like that with our
project.

Hey guys, we've got the forums online now! here's the link

The rest of the website is still in construction so some parts are going
to look abit simple.

There's a function that we've built in there that let's you slow down the
videos but for now it only works in Google Chrome and Safari so if you're
using either of those browsers then give that function a try! :)

There are still a lot of new things that will be happening on the whole
website and as soon as they happen we'll let you know either through the
3b2h forums or email :)

You might want to consider changing the domain that you are using. I
cannot see the forums because the site is blocked by my anti-virus
software:

Hmmm, to outsiders, that might even looks like a dodgy link. It's not very
obvious what it is. The first thing I thought was perhaps it's from a
shortened url site like tinyurl. Except it's not that short.
