A couple of months ago i wrote a blog which I cross posted to rec.juggling
about what Camera Is Best For Juggling Videos.
http://www.nathanrae.co.uk/blog/2009/9/4/which-camera-is-best-for-shooting-juggling-videos.html
I know a lot of people read it as it is still one of the more popular
archived posts on my blog and a lot of people are referred from ijdb and
google groups, etc.
In my latest post and video I take those thoughts a bit further to cover
what other kit you should get hold of to compliment your camera to make
your videos better. Not specifically about juggling i know, but I'm sure
you'll find it interesting/helpful/mildly diverting/amusing anyway.
Anyway, here's the youtube link to the video:

And the link to the blog post with the equipment list and more info:
http://www.nathanrae.co.uk/blog/2009/12/10/small-camera-kit-recommendation-video.html
Hope you like it, and as always, I'd love to hear your feedback and your
suggestion of bits of equipment you think I've missed or forgotten.

3D juggling videos?
Hi
I think they are great for what they are but they aren't really propper
camcorders. I cover that in the other blog post i referred to here:
http://www.nathanrae.co.uk/blog/2009/9/4/which-camera-is-best-for-shooting-juggling-videos.html
I'm sure within a few years flips and codaks version will have progressive
scaning and an external mic option but with a camera that size the lens,
optical zoom and sensor chip (the three things which really define the
quality of a video camera) will always be tiny. And as a general rule:
tiny = not so good and LARGE = more betterer.
but two for the price of one? go for it (and send me the free one).

Thank you,
Emman.
Like I was psychic or something! Zodak just launched their latest version
of the flip concept with mic in and full HD.
Still, have you seen the size of the lens? It's more like a pin hole
camera than a video camera.

I try to film indoors and a lot of the time, the poor lighting makes the
film really grainy. Any ideas on how to help? Even if I turn on all the
lights, it still doesn't help much, the colour even looks distorted.
Should I just buy some lights? I also have problems with this outdoors,
like if the sky is too bright and I am in the shadow, making the film
really grainy again. Any ideas?
Here's an example of the camera in use, and the lighting being a problem:

I use a Sony HDR10e or something by the way if that helps. Perhaps it's
just a terrible camera.
Thanks!
I love the video....tempted to get some of that stuff in time. The
juggling camcorder blog has been bookmarked. I shall be using that info
when buying my next one after xmas :D
