Hey Everyone,

I put up some photos from the 29th RIT Spring Juggle-In that took place
this past weekend. It was great, as usual.

http://xome.net/gallery/Juggling/RIT-2006/

hope you all enjoy.

i enjoyed those photos a lot! and i can't usually say that about fest
pics, honest. i get bored after a couple pics usually, but with yours, i
was sad to read the end. i especially liked the panoramas, and the
pictures that showed good composition/depth of field. interesting both as
a depiction of an event, and as artwork.

what camera are you using?

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I used a canon rebel xt with a sigma 18-50/f2.8 lens.

so where's me? I was wearing my tightest jeans that make my butt look oh so
hard and muscular and my coolest shirt and my 4 rings were probably BLOWING
everybody away - maybe your fancy camera couldn't handle such a mindblowing
juggling phenomena... 3 hour drive and a Rainbow Bridge cavity search for
nothing..

Disappointed in Dundas

Am I the only one that thinks that sounds more smutty than it is?

-Paul
Mixing up "biffin bridge" and "rainbow kiss" for filthy effect since 1995

The "Rainbow Bridge" did have a nice smutty effect - Thanks!

But in reality, it's just the US/Canada border crossing at Niagara Falls,
the least smutty place I can think of, however it's so frickin official now,
I did feel a slight tightening in my gonads

Funny you should say that, Paul. One of my non-juggling interests is
banger racing, and there is a Stoke based team called Stinkbridge. They
make a fine sight in their bright pink Granadas and Volvos. I used to
always wonder where the name came from, until another driver said on his
site that it was an alternative version of a Midlands expression "the
niffin' bridge" which refers to "a certain portion of the anatomy". Don't
know what a rainbow kiss is, and I'm not sure if I want to know. More
tea, Vicar?

As a product of an all-boys secondary school education, things such as
"rainbow kisses" were common topics of discussion and ridicule.

Then there's always the term "chin rest"...

Funny how many rec.jugglers were there and none of us know whom each
other are. =P

But, if you really want to know:

I'm the one wearing the red shirt next to the kid with the yellow

That brings up an interesting idea. The last few festivals I've been
at (Madfest, NYC & RIT) I've looked around the gym and was very curious
to know who from rec.juggling was there. I know that there must have
been a bunch of r.c'ers in the room but just didn't know them by face.
Has there ever been a rec.juggling lunch or face-to-face discussion?
Or does that ruin the anonymity of the internet?

By the way - I'm the guy in the green shirt ;-)

Next festival, I think I'll print out a list of active IJDb members and
scream out their names in alphabetical order while running around the gym.

Same picture, extreme left, black shirt, long beard and short ponytail.

Or, my favourite of Jason's pictures of me, from last year's IJA in
Davenport, passing with Greg Owlsley (sorry Greg, I think I just
mangled the spelling):

Yes, there have been attempts to get rec.jugglers together at a few of
the IJA fests, usually by scheduling a rec.juggling "workshop" or by
posting a notice about a meeting in some convenient... um... bar...

I would personally LOVE to see that happen. I was thinking nametags,
displayed on the back or front with their rec.jug name, but screaming
people's names in alphabetical order while running around the gym is so
much more exciting. That way when we want to say "Who's Mutton?" we can
all say "Remember that crazy kid who was running around yelling about
rec.jug... yea, go meet him".

We were set up selling them; don't know if you noticed.

yes - I bought some "Jugglers are Bum Hippies" shirts for me and people at
work.
I thought we were the only ones - man, you sold alot of those- nice one!
I didn't see you selling them at the fest though. I try to stay away from
the vendors - those guys just want my money...

lunch? discussion? Strewth, you 'merkins sound like a right barrel
of laughs. Why not organise a 3 day seminar with an agenda, nibbles etc
and have done with it?

There have been r.j meets/parties/shameless drunken nonsense at several
BJCs and EJCs over the years and I know several active uk/european
r.jers who make it their business to meet up with others when they're at
a fest.

> Or does that ruin the anonymity of the internet?

Not really, putting handles to faces is good. I draw the line at "real
names" though. Earugh.

In my experience, I tend to miss such meets due to me propping up an
entirely diferent bar at the fest, chatting to an entirely diferent
subset of r.jers...

Referring to the earlier posts, I googled "rainbow kiss" and discovered
it was something I haven't indulged in. Not with the claret, anyway.
