Is fun to juggle. I'm a big fan of 6451, and this feels like an extension
of it to me. You throw the first one as an 8 instead of a 6, and it gives
you room to start two of the balls in a shower instead of just one, then
do something fun with the extra 1, and add a small 3 to make the pattern
work out right. And voila, 84717113. If you add a 4 at the end you make it
symmetric, of course.

Does anyone else like this pattern?

Just tried it in my room, but didnt have the ceiling to do see what could
be done with the 1 1 3. Seems like a fun pattern though. I guess 845151 is
an intermediate pattern between 6451 and 84717113.

Thanks for sharing. It seems there are a lot of 84???etc siteswaps
worth exploring. 84717113 will be my first Period 8.

I think 6451 is the easiest 4 ball siteswap, and it's the first one I
teach the guys in my club.

744 744 96451 744 744 is also a great looking combo that isn't terribly
hard in my opinion. It's a good pattern because collisions aren't a
problem at all.

Surely 552 is easier? And 53444, 534 etc?

At least I find them easier than 6451. But then I find 534 easier than
531. I don't know why.

Yeah, I see your point. Actually, I've never even done/seen 552 and I just
tried it right when I read your post lol

I started trying to ease them into the 534, but it was just too much for
them to take in one jump (although 534 was the first siteswap I ever
learned)

I think the 6451 was really easy for them to pick up because one hand
throws all the high tosses and the other all the low ones. Plus collisions
are generally nonexistent. I think it's just really mentally comfortable
and natural, despite the higher accuracy needed for it.

Honestly, it's hard to say why they caught on to that one so fast and
struggled with the others. One of them is at 20 catches of 5 ball, and the
other at about 40-50 to give you an idea of their skill level.

Heh. It's one I do a fair bit. It's not the most attractive pattern by any
means but a couple of rounds mix nicely into a 4 ball routine. I learned
it primarily as training for 5. It is simple enough and since the only
actual throws are 5's it really lets me focus on making those 5's
consistent.

I think the first one I learned was probably 12345. At least that's the
first siteswap I learned intentionally. I had learned a shower before then
but 12345 was the first one where I saw the siteswap first and decided to
learn it.

I might work on it some more then. I am really enjoying 4 ball patterns
and siteswaps right now. Might have something to do with reading Martin
Probert's 4 Ball Juggling book :-) Plus it's pleasant relief from working
on 5 and 6.

About the same as mine :-)
