I've been practicing 10 rings daily (minus weekends for recovery) and 12
and 14 catches have been getting cleaner and cleaner. This is from
yesterday's practice and was my best gather of the day, a fancy 'up the
arms' finish. Immediately following was 14 throws ending in a
knuckle-buster, so that ended my ring practice for the day.

A few years ago I couldn't do this inside a racquetball court because I
needed more height, but with drills and weight training I've gotten my
hand speed up.

On a side note, my hands feel like they've been working at a lumber mill!

This is so impressive, but, when will you "juggle 12"?

ok, sorry, I had to do this ;)

I am apparently a precocious ring juggler, I discovered how to bust up
my knuckles while only trying to run 7, and I gave them up at that
time. I flashed 9 once, and got 12 with 8 a few times. And split
open I don't know how many fingernails. I also discovered that the
skin on my fingers could separate along the valleys of my
fingerprints. You know the little nicks that are on candy and junk
food packages, "Tear here" where you can propagate tear all the way
across the package? Rings treated every one of my fingerprints as an
"open here" nick.

In other words, I have an enormous amount of respect for numbers ring
jugglers like yourself.

I got a kick out of an interview of Lottie Brunn, which appeared in
Juggler's World a few issues ago. Turns out rings banged up her hands
too - but she kept at it. But it was nice to know it wasn't just me.

Bill and I were working in Reno and Anthony Gatto came into town, I was
working on 8 rings at the time, Anthony took one look at my hands and
said,
that's not good. I said, "your hands don't get like this", he said,
"nope." I
guess my hands were girly hands or I had something seriously wrong with my
technique. With that said, I don't juggle rings anymore.

Well, it's still a goal. If someday I can run 10 async inside a
racquetball court, then maybe it's not so far fetched. :)

Thanks. I really did work a month at a lumber mill (bare handed) in the
early 90's. It was great for hardening up my hands for ring juggling. Bad
if I wanted a career as a masseur!

I think you should just go for it. Lucas can run 10 and flash at
least 13. You can run 9, so logic says that given enough attempts,
you should be able to flash 12. Right!

I think I shall. I've always wanted to do it a-sync, because it looks
awesome and only AG has done it that way. (Sam and Albert did on-sync)
Another reason for a-sync is the easier transition to an 11 ring flash.
(easier being a relative term here...)

I'll work on it. Flashing 11 or 12 would be a great lead-in to my 40's ;)

Lajos most likely did it async :)

You're probably right. I couldn't find any documentation on it. If you
have a link I'd love to see it. I did find this little gem of 11 rings on
the road. Very cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtylUFQxQMI

Me neither, but he doesn't seem to do anything in sync.
He said he wanted to shoot that video with 12 rings but it was too windy :P

I wouldn't be surprised if Gerasimov has flashed 12.

10 rings looks great! Especially a-sync. So hard too! Hopefully will see
10 rings qualified from you one day :)
