Lead ammo ban bill – eliminating hunting one state at a time
This issue affects people outside of California as well as hunters in the state, so study up and take action. The basic issue is this: 1) Anti-hunting and anti-gun groups thought-up a way to ban lead ammo and are test driving the scheme in California. 2) Their claim is that an endangered species (California condors) ingest lead bullet fragments from game carcasses.... more »

Turkey Hunters
Any of you interested in a new (well, kinda) Turkey Hunting Forum? I've had a TH Forum for years and years but the software was outdated and partially broke and no means to stop SPAMMERS. I've updated it to the latest UBB Ver. 7.5.7 and did a clean install because the old forums were too old and too many versions in between to make a clean upgrade. So, I'm starting from scratch and sure would like to see some of the nearly 700 old members come back as well as a flock of newbies.... more »

Pretty good season...pretty quiet group
Mississippi season starts in Oct with bow. It ends in Feb. with bow. So far I am at 6 of my allowed 8. 5 with the crossbow. Lots of meat, no good bucks. How are folks doing? The group is very quiet. Where has everyone gone?

Cabela's Club
They just gave me a nice small Cabela's lock back knife with Cabela's Club 10 year member on the blade. Only credit card I use since I get 1% or more back towards Cabela's purchases. Pleasant surprise after cursing myself for just missing the buck I was after and having the car in the repair shop for a week after hitting a deer a few weeks ago.... more »

Anybody who tries to convince you that mainstream progressives want to take away your guns is a liar.
They're playing gun owners for fools. I don't hunt because I'm not fond of the taste of wild game, but I'm sure glad that other folks do. Otherwise we'd be so overrun with deer that you couldn't drive ten miles without hitting one. Sure, there are kooky fringe folks on all sides, but the overwhelming majority of folks who don't own guns,... more »

more frustration
Returning from a frustrating afternoon of bow hunting over the border in PA where I had a forkhorn at 10 yards in my crossbow scope but could not take him because he was one point shy, I was making a left turn back in Delaware at a light when I saw a flash of a deer running at me bouncing off my front right bumper. Not a second to do anything. Made turn, saw... more »

Farewell to a hunter
While I was overseas last week, I got a series of texts saying ‘ring me’, ‘we need to talk’ and ‘an incident that’s happened’ from The Midget and a guy I hunt with. It does not take a great deal of cognitive horsepower to figure out that something serious was up with somebody else that I hunt with.... more »

Suggestions for a DYI deer box blind?
Would any of readers here have suggestions, photos, plans for making a deer box blind? I'd love to see your ideas. A WI whitetail hunter.
