That figures. The big box stores come into town, drive the smaller
operations out of business with their huge buying power and low prices, then
cut back on what they sell! It's not just your store, it's stores all
around the country pulling this tactic. Wal-Mart is doing it as well, so
don't feel like you're being picked on....

I don't live there any longer, but the Wal-Mart in Rhinelander, WI used to
have about five or six aisles of sporting goods for the outdoorsman, now
they're down to two and the inventory sucks. I'm glad I moved to west TN
where at least for now, the WallyWorld here has a fairly decent selection to
choose from, and they even stock pistol ammo!

It's also possible that they're just sold out and waiting to be restocked,
but I wouldn't bet on it!

Big K's been going down the tubes for years. Since they bought Sears,
half the sporting goods in local store have been displaced by home
appliances.
Friend, big hunter and fisherman, had managed their sporting goods but
left store when they started to decline and for a period was at Dick's
who has picked up the slack.

Wally World cut back on a lot of sporting goods chain wide a while ago and a
lot the store quit selling firearms but all of the ones here seem to sell
ammo.

Maybe someone will have to step in and fill the void for KMart.

Here in NY, I just thought it was NY. The Kmart near me, located in
the heart of a Republican majority of residents, stopped selling
firearms around 1995 or so. They still have air guns, gun cleaning
supplies, bow arrows and camo hunting clothing, but in very small
pickings.

Walmart here stopped selling all firearms a couple years ago. Rumors
persist some screwup with state law record-keeping compliance, other
rumor blames Hilary Clinton who sits on Walmart's BOD. Who knows.
Serves us right for not supporting the NRA and the local gun
shops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't count the number of hunters and shooters I know who fondle in
the store then price on line to save a nickel, you jerks!!
